its also a cumulative effective, Toriyama hasnt drawn a real attempt at manga, other than Jaco, since the late 90s. What Toriyama earned in 1990 is being calculated in 1990s income terms. but realistically toriyama has had his money invested that whole time while odas was earned income over the last few decades.

If you want an example i HIGHLY doubt Kazuki Takahashi is worth anywhere near what it says he was off Yugioh sales. Hard to think even if he had 1% of yugioh he wouldn't have at least 15million off sales alone. Not to mention stock options and actual contracts. Manga sales. etc. He likely is as rich as Toriyama.
Plus there is a lot of suspiciously missing things that exclude Japanese artists. We know for a fact all 3 coamix members are richer than most mangaka but most lists dont include them. Fist of the North star to this day sell millions in gambling machines, and they, unlike ALL OTHER AUTHORS IN JUMP fought jump for direct serialization rights of HNK. Unlikely any of them are under 30million.
Another nail in the coffin is lack of Yoshikazu Yasuhiko. You have to be crazy to think a mangaka who gets gundam toy sales isnt going to dwarf oda. Both him and Kunio Okuwara are, guaranteed, getting residuals on Gundam. We know for a FACT kunio has am entire LINE of Gunpla, one that sells super well and is well liked, called Ver Ka. there are dozens and dozens of Ver Ka at this point and even if a few of them are selling 30k units thats still a lot per gunpla. It would be very hard to think he isnt well in the 100s mils, same for Tomino although Tomino doesnt make manga (he writes light novels kek)
Plus theres the glaring lack of a few notables.....where is Takehiko Inoue? Slam Dunk is a top10 selling manga where he retians FULL rights and distribution of the series.
Leiji Matsumoto? He is never on any list despite dwarfing everyone.
What about Shojo artists? They rack in cash like its nobody's business. The lack of them on any lists sort of makes me think its BS.
Notably Sailor Moon is a pretty claring admission. We KNOW FOR A FACT she is richer than most jump authors. She isnt oda level, but she is equal to toriyama is stature and thats especially true if you include HxH which is all her money too. So these lists barely do justice.
Kubo is never on a list. Urasawa is never on a list.
Where is Rumiko Takahashi? Its confirmed by Toriyama himself she is richer. Shes pumped out hundreds of manga for 4 decades, almost 5. She has at least 10mil lmao

How about Go Nagai? Just based on Dynamic Plannings employement of hundreds of animators and mangaka implies Nagai is making half a million per YEAR, easy. The way he hangs with Arab billionaires implies a different class level. Oda doesn't hold a candle. Nagai has like 300 projects all earning residuals with things he spent a year on selling hundreds of toys still today. Highly doubt he doesnt top and win every mangaka net worth list.
Japan doesnt release stats on this and what we do know is mostly untranslated in Japanese. so theres no evidence for anything.
