there's some pretty excessive drinking. A scene where a middle aged guy tries to feel up a young college girl. MC gets his underwear stolen and has to go pantsless for a while, nothing is shown. Traditional Japanese erotic art is featured a couple of times, but it's all censored. There's a pretty prominent scene where MC battles his sex drive, but it's a really goofy metaphorical scene. If you've seen Tatami Galaxy, I'd say there's nothing worse here. It actually might be a little more tame. I don't think it warrants the rating, it's probably just a technicality.

The scene where they show the erotic paintings has uncensored female nipples even if shown for 3 seconds and they are hardly visible and shown in a painting. Apparently that's enough for MAL to put an R+ rating. For comparison this movie is rated PG-13 in imdb.
