Edit: I feel like ppl are worrying for nothing. There's simply no way Denjis gonna die. He's the core of the entire series even if he's not quite the focus of the story at the start of this 2nd part. The mangas called Chainsaw Man, wouldn't make sense to have an entire part without the dude with the chainsaws. Fujimotos probably gonna play this situation as comic relief after Yoru and Asa realize Denjis identity.

The manga says multiple times Hybrids are immortal so I'm really hoping that's true

Yeah true, if he somehow triggers his transformation he should be fine but I'm really really hoping it won't work ngl :(( Especially after we took ages to get here when the former protag and current protag meet each other and have another date, taking him out this early wouldn't be too beneficial imo

What if War's abilities only trigger if Asa wants it? I don't recall any of the War's weapons becoming real without Asa wanting them to be real, so I'd say this is a way to avoid "that" new weapon.

Overall this was a good chapter but that final twist was scary. I really like Denji as a character and don't want him to die at all. I am hoping that this spinal cord sword of her won't kill Denji as he can regenerate from just his heart alone. However this chapter has increased the death flags for Denji's character. I think Fujimoto is gonna kill him in the future. I really hope, I am wrong and Denji makes it out of Part 2 alive.

Very cute chapter, kind of ended very anticlimactic to how I thought it would. I thought the Eternity Devil stuff would last much longer, but I guess since Fujimoto doesn't want to retread old ground too too much it had to end abruptly.

The end of the chapter, though, damn... I really think Asa and Denji are made for each other, but this took a turn. I can see three things happening when we pick up next chapter, either A. Denji is quick on his feet and doesn't let Yoru turn him into a weapon, B. he gets turned into a weapon but he survives and is like "Asa wtaf" or C. her powers just don't work on him for some reason.

I think whatever happens, Yoru will find out that he's Chainsaw Man, so this will be very interesting.

Edit: People are definitely worrying too much. If he does get turned into a weapon this will not be the thing that kills Denji lmao

I agree, I came back to reread it after a few hours and it definitely was abrupt, though it would be stupid for Denji to die that way. He is pretty durable though with the present context I think option B will be the most likely option here, (though I hope option C happens because I'm not sure how Denji will feel towards Asa when it looks like she tries this right after they form a nice bond in his POV)

I'm excited for Tuesday >:)

Edit: Come to think of it, Asa apparently has a crush on Denji but she hasn't really outright admitted it yet. Yoru also was like hey this must be love, but she sees it as more of Asa's emotion compared to her own??? So THEORETICALLY maybe she doesn't accept/know she has a crush on Denji yet which means HE WOULDN'T BE OWNED??? PLEASE????????? That's probably how option C would happen, though he definitely would survive if Option B happened

This arc has won me over. Probably the best chapter since ages and that cliffhanger at the end... I literally don't have a single fucking clue what comes next. It's been a while since I've felt this in an anime/manga.
