Somehow, Mameda gets herself into some drama and trouble even in the series' finale. Yikes. Lucily, this episode still had its performance and that police guy looked nervous. Bunko never ceases to amaze.

Episode also had a bit of more emotions and tears. I actually love Mameda and Bunko's chemistry even in the finale for this show. 7/10.

Nice and satisfying finale. That old guy got what he deserved.

Beautiful scene. Mameda and Bunko are so cute together. <3

This was a pretty good show. To be honest, I never cared so much about those raguko performances, but Mameda and Bunko definitely made this worth watching. I'll miss those two for sure.

This was a pretty good ending to the anime. I really hope that we get a second season.

"If only cherry blossoms could vanish from this world,
perhaps our hearts would be at peace in the spring"

A waka again in this episode as well, this time from Ariwara no Narihira.

I loved these and the other janapese cultural references in this show, but otherwise this was not a memorable anime. Perhaps I was spoiled by the rakugo and the characters of Shouwa Genroku and because of that I had the same high expectations of this show. And I was left disappointed. Anyway I give it a 5/10.

Ah yes, this was the time when keijo was a men only sport. We've come a long way since then.

Mameda being courteous to the old geezer, not realizing that this was his plan to counteract her with the Rakugo showing the last episode, and if anything, the big bag of money is proof to throw her off at her rhythm for his revenge against the Daikokutei. Thankfully, the others were there to help Mameda rout this age-old issue, though not without its issues with the corrupted police siding with the old geezer. Mameda sure took a risk falling into the trap, but it's Bunko who took full advantage thanks to the Heavenly Kings helping out in the background.

And with the greatest of all Japan's awaiting, Bunko starts her Rakugo, and she gave the old geezer a return of his own karma by having the audience be a witness. She's truly the cunning fox to let Mameda settle her issue, and in the process of becoming a Daikokutei, this is a tall order for her. But Bunko embracing her as her only apprentice, shows how far Mameda has grown considerably, and towards the first apprentice herself in Buncho's footsteps of being a Master to the next successor.

May Mameda grow abundantly with Bunko, the relationship between the fox and tanuki, master and apprentice.

The end of Volume 4 of the manga, and a good stopping point. Though the anime is fine I guess.

enjoyed this a lot more than I expected. A pleasant, entertaining anime. My sleeper pick this season.
I was so engrossed by the rakugo stories that I found myself having the same reactions as Mameda.

A really, really niche anime
8/10

Nice to see when an enjoyable anime sticks the landing. Liked to see everyone standing up against the corrupt cops and the old bastard. Cute moments between Mameda and Shishou too. Unfortunately I'm neither cultured nor Japanese enough to appreciate the rakugo, or perhaps it wasn't anything special.

7/10

The last episode was very good, this was another anime this season that started out kind of average and surprised me with some very good stories. Bunko's origin story, and the episode where Mameda performed her first time were my favorite.
I gave this 7/10 overall, which is an improvement over where I rated it after episode 3. I wanted to give it higher, but it didn't do the one thing I wanted,

That probably happened off-screen between episode 12 and 13 because the staff ran out of time/episodes to animate that part.

man this was so good. truly an underrated gem of this season.

good to see the issue with the old man was solved nicely.

for some reason i was in tears many times this episode. that's how well it was done.

we finally get to hear what master really wanterd to say to bunko.

and seems like mameda passed, too bad we didn't get to hear her rakugo.

with how this ended, the chances for season 2 seem slim but it's not completely out of question as i don't think it will end without mameda meeting up with her tanuki people again.

overall, 9/10. i wish more people knew about this.

The end of an era. Thank you Wit, Mappa and Isayama.
Feeling half happy, half sad.

Good show. Definitely my favourite of the last season and probably my favourite of all that I've seen in 2022. Too bad nobody fuuuuuuuuuuuuuucking watched it, though.

The strongest aspect of this for me has probably got to be the character acting - especially with Mameda. Whoever voiced her really owned their role, which did a great deal in making her relationships with the other characters easier to be invested in. The optimism and love for storytelling that this show preaches is also quite lovely as well. It's hard to really articulate how satisfied and content this show makes me feel, but it definitely does.

Nice ending to a fun and cute series. Full of cute female characters. :D

Bunko was super cute in the last few eps. Her loli form was cute as ****.. Those emotions and tears at the end were impactful as well.

Ep: 9/10
Series: 8.5/10

Sometimes we need series like this. Low stakes and mild drama at worst. Fun to watch.

The only thing i'm confused on is whether Mameda knew that Bunko was a multi tailed fox.
