These posts are getting more frequent, it's probably best to strike down hard on users who make these posts in order to stop them from happening.

Even with throwaway alt accounts, 1 week bans aren't gonna stop them. They'll keep going until they get permabanned and use a different account to keep calling out users. It's for the best you go all out and just permanently ban these accounts from the site.

Maybe the person making those posts will eventually just give up, but we don't want to see these rage posts with beastiality and other porn in them.

If the account is deemed an alt account by the moderators, instant delete. If it seems like a normal account, maximum ban issued, and another ban results in account deletion.

My current goal is to revamp all the character details for High School DxD and have all the characters included in the DB.

i think this is already happening though? i also report some alt accounts from time to time and they are permanently banned whenever a community moderator is around since forum moderators cannot ban users now they say, and afaik they do have a system to detect alt accounts

Too vague and ripe for mod abuse. Also no one should have their account deleted except blatantly obvious spam accounts if anything. Also you yourself said why it’s pointless since they can just make other accounts.

I doubt that. Even super obvious alts like milkmonster run rampant on the forums for weeks before they do anything about it.

Abuse? From the mods? Aren't they the purest saints on this website? Those who shall do no wrong?

"Calling out other users", you mean something like brigading, just on forum level? With mentioning with @ several users who weren't participating in the conversation?

It's fine as long as they stay in their containment board because there is so much shit there already that one or two more alt accounts don't really matter. I mean 99% of the drama is happening in CD so who cares. But if they spread to other boards then yes they should get restricted.

Making posts dedicated to other MAL users telling them to die or go fuck themselves

Thanks for explaining. Damn, so users writing such posts are not severely punished? The fact acting like that is not treated as bannable offence, worth of instant ban, sounds really bizarre.

You don't need a new rule for this - since there is already "harassment" in the rules. And if the moderators work correctly - not ignoring the situation ... at least the second time someone tries something like this ... should result in a ban. (First time warning ... though in such cases I think warnings can be skipped and the rules allow directly for a ban.)

So ... this is mandatory: If they do this repeatedly without behaving for at least 6 months ... the permanent ban will follow. There can be no leeway to just ignore it - for the moderation. Since telling someone to kill themselves is clearly "harassment" (this does not only mean sexual harassment but normal one as well) and not a joke. It also does not "encourage discussion" (a think they often try to promote in certain sections where even the threads that can get made are regulated).

If you report such a post and the moderator does not react or says it is not against the rules ... it would be best to contact an admin. (If they do not react ... contacting the site owners directly.) The correct way then would be for the admin to again explain the moderator how to do the job. If they make further mistakes then replacing the moderator with another one.

But only for the "killing themselves", "go die" and stuff. Talking about someones taste or which postes the other person made in some other thread ... there it is based on the situation. Needs closer inspection I guess. (More leeway for the moderators.) Only if someone persistently tries this all the time for one other user ... not contributing anything else to the thread - then it could also be considered "trolling" I guess?

moderators are more interested in locking random old AD threads for no discernible reason other than they feel like it and banning people for bypassing the stupid fucking character limit

the entire mod staff is useless and needs to be replaced, but the problem is being an internet moderator is a degenerative disease of the mind, and whoever takes their place would surely be just as bad in due time

As deg mentioned, this is basically already happening.
For more information, I redirect you to our Violation and Ban Policy, would also advise to read the 'Furthermore' part.

As for this, these are taken seriously and I know that me and my fellow team members act on these. While the post of Luthandorius is quite informative, these things fall under the Abuse category - Suggesting and the policy will be applied.
If you however see these posts, it would be appreciated in reporting them.

Hope to have you informed accordingly.
