This was shown at the special event. No release date or PV.

No PV was expected but the fact we still don't have a release date makes me think we are definitely getting this season in the 2nd half of 2023.

However, the official Pony Canyon YT channel uploaded new unlisted videos today so whatever those are may be revealed soon.

I guess that with this the last faint possibility of a transmission in winter is extinguished. At this point they have had a really long time to do probably 8 episodes, although we have to understand since they started working on it

It wasn't going to be winter anyway. When P2 was announced they immediately said winter 2022. When P3 was announced they just said 2023 meaning they didn't have a release date in mind. Not revealing it even now to me means we're not even getting it in spring. Probably summer at the earliest.

He's had both green and blue eyes throughout the show. I wouldn't take this as a hint of anything.

Nope. He never had blue eyes, the only time his titan had blue eyes is when he went berserk in S1. That's all. Never said it's hint of anything. Just found it interesting that mappa changed his eye colour in the last part of the show.

Man I didn't notice it. But the founding titan has purple eyes whenever it uses it's powers. Frieda had them. Grisha had them. So maybe eren too. It's just my theory.

Both. This part should have the least amount of episodes with the longest production time. But Mappa is very busy seeing as they are doing titles like Chainsaw Man, Vinland Saga and Jujutsu Kaisen currently.

Vol 33 cover looks dope. This doesn't. And they should have atleast announced the release date. If by slim chance this part does air in winter 2023, the production committee has had done a terrible work with the marketing.

Yes, volume 33 is better, I agree. The reason they haven't revealed the release date is probably because it's not gonna be soon. I think summer or fall 2023.

mappa isnt doing vinland saga, they're just funding it. Jjk and csm has different subsidiary studio and handled by totally different team. Maybe aot and hells paradise will share the same team

Still, they are doing many projects and their workforce is spread thin. Also, teams never strictly stay on one anime as Part 2 had some help from JJK animators. Point is, more people would be working on AOT if they weren't doing this much.

Who said mappa isn't doing VS. Staff being same doesn't mean the studio has no participation in it. Cgi of VS S1 was done by Madbox studio. A subsidiary of IG port. Now since wit studio is out, the cgi will most likely be done in house at mappa or by V-sign. V-sign is mostly made of mappa employees.

I'd say the production started after 2nd part ended in March, I'd set aside 3-4 months for pre-production since MAPPA did say that it's "the beginning of a new era" since Chainsaw Man, so it makes sense to assume AoT is having a much healthier production schedule than before.

Honestly I'm very under-educated about exactly what goes on during Pre-production, so 3-4 months is a very rough estimate, but since they already have the Character designs and CGI models worked out it should be much easier than before.

I'd leave 8-10 months for animation, or actual production if MAPPA is indeed having a great schedule this time around, but 6-7 months is a more realistic estimate for 10 episodes.

So that leaves a total production time of 9-10 months at least, or up to a year. In case of the latter we should get a Summer/Fall 2023 air date.

Most of these are thought estimates using my half-built knowledge of the anime industry and MAPPA's AoT production schedule, so take this with a grain of salt.

Tl;Dr - AoT Part 3 should Summer/Fall 2023

I just realised it's rumoured to be 10 episodes not 8 mb, but there's only 9 chapters left, with 1 chapter per episode it's only gonna be 10 episodes with a slower paced better fleshed out execution, so yeah

Yeah more episodes = more weeks to be hyped
Not to mention the last 2 chapters might need entire episodes if not more for each, so they should definitely consider adapting every panel and more lol

Is this teaser the official key visual? To be honest, I was expecting something more dramatic and elaborate than this...

When it comes to the airing date, they have 2 options left if they decide not to air it in the Winter: they either start it on April the 8th/9th to commemorate the ending of the manga OR they start it somewhere in February such that that the ending of the show ends up being released on April the 8th or 9th, simply to commemorate the ending of the manga. But yes, last year we got an announcement in October.
I sometimes forget to finish my sentences.

Manga vol cover was much more epic. Mikasa straight fall looks just perfect. However in this key visual it looks like characters are copy pasted in random circle pattern and they are facing the camera for a photoshoot. No epicness. Mappa never disappoint to disappoint.

The thing with SNK KVs is either it's very great and most iconic or just bland and below average(mostly below average)

Except cg director,SNK don't share any core staff with those shows,so these 3 shows aren't gonna affect SNK production or release date.

We are definitely going to have another KV, if not two.

Those are not the 2 options, I think it's more likely we are getting this season in the 2nd half of 2023, if not the end of it.

I preferred the first one to be honest. Felt more like a poster and have that menacing aura covering it. The new one is not bad of course. It just doesn't look as something that would be released in different format than "first key visual after the final season's announcement".
