i think this has gotten better

in his past, he was dualing some lady and it was a draw. while he was excited to have a someone he could call a rival, she deceived him and blocked his inner force. and by how the episode ends, she eventually stole his hou yi gong and became some powerful leader person or something. because this chu state had a massive statue of her now

fortunately, when the princess couldn't control her power and she sucked his inner force dry, she unlocked his vital energy. now his true power/strength has returned. (except for the part about not having any inner force...whatever that means...)

also looks like the king is sick/dying. and that's where we're at
