Being total opposites doesn't always mean that you should be put in a position to get together with them.
If Naoki enjoyed Kotoko's presence, I could understand this line,
but he's said over and over again that he doesn't.
This line comes off as further selfishness on Noriko's part.

In speaking of which, Noriko reveals here just how inconsiderate she is of her son. He reveals later in that same chapter that he doesn't eat sweets: you would think that as the mom, Noriko would know that piece of information, and yet continues to insist that Kotoko give him chocolate?

So on top of the mom thing, it's okay if things stay the way they are now?
If that's the case, why in the world are you still annoyed with every little thing Kotoko does?

Finally, in the event of running away,
this would have been a good time to apologize, Naoki... you a-hole.

If Naoki continues to insist that it's fine that things stay the way they are, what kind of implication would that give to girls who are reading this manga? That it's somehow okay to torment somebody who doesn't feel the same way you do until they give in, because they secretly like it? This idea is so toxic that it's not just abusive, it's sickening, and the writer should have known better.
