| I was really at ends with myself over whether I should give this a go, being an original anime on one hand, but a high-school harem on the other. However, I'm surprised by how well this first episode worked for me. It's got a part-spectacle, part-actually-being-funny appeal for me, even if that bananoner scene was properly retarded. Shows like this usually have a very superficial appeal that wanes almost immediately for me, but I think this has the potential to come out pretty decent. I'm going in hopeful, which is kinda unfortunate that this has been banished to the 6-star rating average along with everything else that's truly terrible. I'm no harem aficionado, but there's enough already going for this that properly differentiates itself from it's competitors. I guess harems are the Nihongo equivalent of superhero movies at this point, though, so I guess I can understand why the main audience for this is more than a little tired of it. It took me so long to finish the first episode of this too-precious-for-its-own-good, and I have got a vision of the peak of comedy. I was never given this chance with the original of previous season.  With the evident flashback right off the bat, there is no need to debate about the canonical ship here, isn't it?  |
