| On another forum yurippe is acutually getting alot of hate. But I actually like her ( up into current epsiode 5). Shes only just realized and confirmed that the target shes been fighting isn't what she fought it was. Her intelligence has been wrong. I have no idea who Haruhi is tho. Reminds me of Oren Host club but. Might just be similar spelling. |

| Hate Haruhi and I'm indifferent towards Yurippe. Aside from a somewhat similar character design and "role" within the club they are not similar.... at all. Aside from the basic "preppy and overbearing" personality Yuri is FARR more sane and down to earth not to mention more intelligent (the god thing notwithstanding, but for all points and purposes Haruhi is an idiot god). She's also capable of showing emotion in a more-or-less human manner whereas Haruhi is either too obtuse or too dishonest to even realize she's feeling emotion >.>. When I see Yuri, I think of Saya from Little Busters with a different hairdo. They're more or less personality clones in different situations. The fact that they're both by Key makes her a more apt comparison anyway. |

| I really hate Yurrippi. She's impulsive, and an ass. She said at the end of episode 4 "I wish you both would disappear". In those circumstances, joking around like that just seems like it went too far. And from episode 5, she seems very bland like others have said, and extremely impulsive. I don't see anything special about her character, and I only hold negative feelings for her. As for Haruhi, I never got through much of the series without giving it up. However, I didn't hate Haruhi from what I had seen. From what little I have seen from Yurrippi, I hate her. |

| Haruhi 100%. If you consider them from the angle of being the same character, Yuri is a tepid reflection of Haruhi. (But to answer the original question, I don't hate her.) Yuri isn't a bad character in her own right, even if she doesn't change her hair every day. She does bring some of Haruhi's glee when attacking a problem; which I like. The rockets are a great example of this. The confession another. As to the question of maturity, Haruhi is a first-year high school student who has dwelt in a self-imposed isolation for years. How mature is she supposed to be? She's an interesting person and her development was a critical part of a brilliant story. And we don't know how long Yuri has been in this state for. She leads a guerrila force and because of the Groundhog Day nature of her world, she gets to see the consequences of her choices and actions. She should have some maturity. I'm not sure that this is a fair comparison. Also, I don't think that Yuri is more contemplative than Haruhi. Half of Haruhi's life has been a result of thinking about existence and the meaning of life and then acting upon her beliefs. She is very action-oriented but that doesn't mean that she doesn't think first. And her beliefs haven't remained static. Yuri on the other hand, seems dismissive of Otonashi's questions regarding the nature of their existence. She acknowledges that there are many things they don't know, but she doesn't seek out the answers to those unknowns. She keeps doing the same things and fighting the same fights. And as someone else pointed out above, she's only just now beginning to acknowledge reality (such as it is), and only when reality (such as it is) forces itself upon her. |

| I hate neither, but I will bring something up. First off, Haruhi molests people... so far, Yuri doesn't. Also, Yuri has some kind of a character instead of being loud 24/7. Finally, Yuri so far has not been stuck in Endless Eight :p I guess I like Yurippe a bit better right now. |

| I don't hate Yurippe at all, she has shown to be a good leader in episode 6. Seems like she's sorta aware of what's going on. I think people jump the gun on this one, I find it funny how people can hate a character after watching 4 / 5 episodes. Haruhi on the other hand is someone I didn't necessarily hated, she was annoying at times, but not more than that. |

| Haruhi is all good yet the imitation is somewhat lacking in many points compared to the original. Besides, as much as I despise the original K-on, the original is still better than the imitation in this particular anime. |

| Seriously, I'm sure there are other characters like these two, very similar in looks. It's just that Haruhi's so annoying popular that everybody's complaining about Yurippe. Yurippe actually cares, and acknowledges her bad points, once saying that shes 'a horrible leader'. Haruhi just thinks she's the best, wants the rest of the world to know that, and gets a bunch of people to do her every want. Also, Yurippe's past was more interesting and gave her her fight. If the hair style was different, nobody would be complaining. |

| I feel as though Yurippe isn't as loud and obnoxious as Haruhi. Plus Yurippe tends to be a little bit more "behind the scenes." While Haruhi tends to "hog the stage." But I do love them both lol. |

| I have been pondering this for quite some time. I'm baffled as to why I like Haruhi more than Yurippe (even though I like Haruhi less and less as the series progress).
