The story about Kogane High turned out to be false. Asahi Weekly put the release of K-ON! uniform and the introduction of new school uniform to Kogane High in the same paragraph, but the two stories are unrelated to each other. I retract the news and apologize for posting an incorrect topic.

The subheading reads "It Originated From Anime. Students and Teachers' Idea -Students' Will Takes Priority. It's Economical and Good For Descipline.-" but the phrase"Originated From Anime" is unrelated to the rest of the lines. I should have been cautious in handling such a low resolution scan.

According to Asahi Junior High Weekly, Chiba Prefectural Kogane High School adopted the uniform of K-ON!. The students of Kogane High hadn't worn uniforms but they decided to introduced one and K-ON! uniform was selected by the students' request. The teachers and the students are satisfied with the uniform because it's economical and made a good effect on the students' discipline of their appearance.

the story below are true.
Saitama Prefecture has also considered to adopt the uniforms of anime which relates to the area such as Lucky ☆ Star and Crayon Shin-chan.

Kyoto Newspaper reported that K-ON! fans have donated 758 items to the old building of Toyosato Elementary School, the model school of K-ON!. One of the classrooms of the old school is filled with such items from the tea cups to the drum set.

Scan of Kyoto Newspaper

The residents in Toyosato welcome K-ON! fans by establishing "Town Revitalization By K-ON! Committee". The chairman Miyagawa Hiroshi said "The sales of the local restaurants and the railway are increased by the visitors from all over the country. We want to raise the movement more."

I think it's not cosplay since it was introduced as their proper uniform...

kinda looked-like they mimicked the anime for childish purposes...

The students of Kogane High hadn't worn uniforms but they decided to introduced one and K-ON! uniform was selected by the students' request. The

*these guys were stupid on picking those K-on uniforms...

they should've chosen the bunny outfit from the SOS Brigade..

I don't understand the "economical" part of this... just imagine the amount of cash they will have to dish out to protect the girls from ronery old men on the school exit every day! Oo

Well since the students themselves requested it, I don't see anything wrong with it. Plus the uniforms are extremely cute. And it looks like they're using bows with the winter uniform instead of the thin ribbons, so that makes it look different.

These are the times I wish people like Dan Rather came back to journalism.

Next thing we know there will be university sponsored lolicon (if that hasn't happened yet).

Lol, I thought it was a good idea until I saw the other comments above me. Lawl.
I mean, it's just a uniform, and I see it as some sort of social service. Besides, manga and anime is part of Japan's culture, I wouldn't be surprised if some of it was incorporated into the mainstream society.

Trouble is, cosplay industry may be a bit affected and some students may feel troubled when otakus stare at them (thinking they are cosplaying) lmao.

OK seriously, if you have ever had to wear one of those ugly plaid jumpers as uniforms, or something equally gross year round you would be jealous of those girls right now. I know I am. Those uniforms are damn cute. They probably had some really ugly uniforms before if a lot of people requested this.

This pretty much. But I would think if the students requested this, they're probably thinking it'll be like cosplay year round, which will make school fun! or something. Teenagers do like to feel special.

I suspect people are complaining because the uniforms are based on the K-ON! uniforms and not any other popular anime.

Besides, the students want them, the teachers don't seem to object and the uniforms could've looked a helluva lot worse, so all is good, no?

So what exactly is peoples problem in here? If I had to wear a uniform and could choose, I would select one that actually looks good I saw somewhere in the media. What kind of media I saw it in would have little relation to my choice.
And I guess they'll design a fitting male uniform to accommodate the K-on ones.

And on the edge of sanity I stumble and fall.
