I just finished episode 22 and it’s just not doing it for me, with each episode I feel like i’m losing more and more interest. As someone who really wanted to like the show, I feel like the only reason I’m still watching it is out of obligation.
Idk, do you guys feel the same or is it just me?

Me personally I feel like episodes 1,2,23, and 24 brought out the most excitement and gets you really pumped when you watch it maybe just tho.

The only boring part by any means were the parts between him getting in Esperion and getting his position switched, but that serves as a nice bunch of episodes to get to know the characters. Everything else has been incredibly amazing imo.

Maybe it just isn’t for you, no need to push it since we all have different preferences and perspectives

You don't have to like it though, AoT and Naruto don't excite me, for example, but they're good. They're just not for me.

Regarding Ao Ashi, I love it as a football and sports fan in general. I adore down-to-earth drama and real yet exciting games. In case you like more over-the-top shounen action, try reading Blue Lock.

I recently started the manga and i can say that the musashino was the weakest one between the big games
But probably this isn't in your taste

You watched up to episode 22 just to finally realize you don’t like it? I loved the show, but I’ll never understand things like “watching out of obligation” and the like. If it doesn’t do anything for you, you should’ve just dropped it a while ago.

I liked it. If you’re a football fan, you would’ve appreciated its approach to the beautiful game. I can’t think of any football anime as realistic in the way the tactics are instructed and the way they are delivered on the pitch. The characters are lovable. The show keeps you on your toes. It is easily one of my favorite anime in the past few years.

As a manga reader, the adaptation was good overall, I was disappointed when they didn't put in as much effort in the animation part. Also, they didn't even explain some of the important tactical concepts with simple diagrams for the audiences who are visual learners. Of course there's the time constraint but I hope they will rectify this problem in S2 (if there will be a season 2).

Depends on what you dislike. It has well-written characters with appropriate importance placed on the tactical aspect of football which you don't have to be a football nerd to understand. The animation might not be doing it for you.

If you liked it at the start I just recommend reading the manga from when you started not liking it then you can see if it's just the anime or you don't like the story in general

i liked it. it was my first sports anime so im not very educated in the field but i think aoashi did an amazing job with the tactics and strategies implied in the game. it also managed to stay away from being too shounen-y and put the spotlight on each character of the team instead of pouring everything into Aoi. later i watched haikyuu, which i for some reason just couldnt stand and dropped at ep15. i also have plans to watch blue lock when it comes out and kuroko's basketball. maybe after that i'll bump my rating down a bit but rn i think Aoashi is awesome

Not really worth the watch imo. Maybe 2-3 good episodes. Ashito takes like 5 mins to make any decision whenever he’s using his “crow’s eye view” bs. Like most sports anime Ao Ashi comes across as overdramatized and presents players’ skills as something more like super powers.

Have you ever watch or understand anything about football before? it was a joke for calling ao ashi overdramatized when we had blue lock and Inazuma 11 around. Also, This bullshit: "Ashito takes like 5 mins...". Have you really watch anime before? cause we had some animes where the damn characters think for an entire episode but the time that actually passes was only around 1 min. On the other hand, those bird's eye view was no bs, it was somewhat real. The anime just romanize it a bit so low iq people like us could visualize how exactly someone with wide vision actually sees. Thats why there were at least 3 football animes bringing this skills up (including bluelock main character).

It’s just not for you and you should’ve dropped it after the first cour. It’s gets way better in the manga apparently after where season 1 ended. It’s showcases the realistic aspects of football and the characters are written so well. It’s genuinely rewarding watching the MC grow to becoming a pro athlete.

If 22 episodes still isn’t enough that jeez man you’re wasting your time. Just drop it or finish the last 2 episodes off and don’t even put a rating ๐Ÿ—ฟ

If you don’t like aoashi you probably just not into sports or something because it’s undeniably a good anime I literally can’t see any flaws, animation, writing, characters, development literally everything is there

It isn’t a real skill and there’s no need for a nonsensical analogy just to help viewers understand a simple concept. It’s literally just spatial awareness, but most of these shows would have no draw without creating some superpower for “us low iq viewers.” Also romanticizing is equal to overdramatizing in this context. Obviously blue lock is unrealistic/dramatic (every team only has strikers). Doesn’t mean Ao Ashi is an accurate depiction of playing football. that’s like saying because Kuruko no Basket is dramatic then Slam Dunk is what basketball is actually like. Most of these sports anime will seem dumb af to a person who’s actually played the sport. Arguing about “hOw MuCh MoRe DrAmAtIc” one is than another is just semantics
