Loving the anime, it's great and all but the pacing is so slowwww, does this get any faster in the manga or?

It feels like not even 3 months have passed in the anime and it's already in episode 20

You'll be surprised to hear that this pacing is what we've got after speedrunning the manga content. They're trying to do 11 volumes / 110 chapters in 24 episodes. The manga's explanations are way more detailed and quite a bit got skipped.

And for the passage of time in the anime..

We started at summer 9th grade for Ashito (August?) and then trial, a few weeks and then the announcement.. skip a few months.
Ashito came to Esperion before graduating junior high school (March?) and trained a bit..
Start high school (April), play 2 matches (2 weeks)
Timeskip 4 matches (4 weeks)
Finally plays again (1 week)
Now prepping for the next match.. we're in June now I guess?

If you want some spoilers, in chapter 300+ of the manga, now we're in

I don't even see how slow pacing would be an issue. Haikyu and Aoashi have the same slow pacing because they're both slice of life/sports. It covers a year (or 3) of their sports experience and there's more to sports then just the game. How players interact with each other, their roles on field/court, their goals, social lives, life situations are all relevant in real life. Aoashi does this much better than Haikyu, given that almost all players have the potential to go pro. The guys have been playing within the academy for years so it complicates the dynamic between the players that have been there from the start vs. Aoi/other players that joined the academy later on. There's a lot of moving parts so the pacing feels just right to me, especially week to week.

It kindof sucks that they’re trying to slow down this match because I wanted to see the next one but at the same time Anime only get the same amount of soccer info and char development as manga so that’s good.

The time «stamps» are perfect! Not dragging slow, not fast. Just perfect!

It's actually pretty good since it builds an appropriate atmosphere.

i honestly love it. i eat up those sports anime where big hyped things happen everytime but slow build ups from ao ashi are sooooo good man. lets the emotions sink in more. at first i was also surprised by how long they took for aoi to leave his hometown even though usually those are done in less than an episode but god fucking damn was it good? i just hope they continue to the adaptation after this season

If the pacing was fast then you would be saying it’s too fast

I mean if it's too fast, obviously

My point is that I feel like they're kind of blue balling viewers from the matches etc; only half an episode per match and there's been like what 2-3 matches?
