The official website of the Haikyuu!! (Haikyu!!) anime series announced a two-part sequel movie on Saturday, titled Haikyuu!! Final (Haikyu!! Final). The website also revealed an announcement promo and a teaser visual (pictured). Haruichi Furudate originally published two one-shots in Shounen Jump NEXT and Weekly Shounen Jump in January and April 2011. The latter began serializing the volleyball manga in February 2012 and ended its eight-year-run in July 2020. Shueisha published the 45th and final volume in November that year. Haikyuu!! has a cumulative 50 million copies of its volumes in circulation. Production I.G produced the first three seasons in Spring 2014, Fall 2015, and Fall 2016. The fourth season, Haikyuu!!: To the Top, aired in split cours in Winter and Fall 2020. The manga also inspired four compilation films between July 2015 and September 2017. Crunchyroll simulcast the seasons with subtitles as they aired in Japan. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime series in North America and released the first three seasons on home video in June 2015, April 2018, and November 2019, and later with an English dub. The fourth season shipped on March 29. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English under its Shounen Jump imprint in 2016. The company simulpublished the chapters with the Japanese release on its Shounen Jump platform. The 45th and final volume shipped last August. Haikyuu!! won the 61st Shogakukan Manga Awards in the Shounen category in 2015. Announcement Official site: https://haikyu.jp/ Official Twitter: @animehaikyu_com Source: Oricon News Haikyuu!! Man, Demon Slayer really ruined everything. Now they're gonna fit 100+ chapters in 2 fucking movies. Saekano style |

Success of Demon Slayer is again proving to be a curse. Don't know if it is possible to properly condense 3 cours worth of content into 2 films but I guess we will see. Doubt it will be satisfying. |

100+ chapters in two movies don't seem possible at all. Something definitely isn't right. It seems that I need to pick up the manga. It might be due to Demon slayer that we are getting so many anime movies these days but it will be the fault of those people related with the project if it does not get the right treatment. |

For example if we make a 24 episode season and lets assume that each episode is 20 minutes long (if we dont count the op and ed) then that is worth 8 hours of content. I doubt they will make two movies each of 4 hours. |

Tell me these are recap movies or something because no way in hell they can cram some 100 odd chapters in two movies. Just no way. |

The demon slayer movie was 2 hours long and was still considered a lengthy film. For much more recent examples, The Batman was almost 3 hours long. Thats not the only problem. Lets say they do end up making two movie of 3.5 hours, I still think that even after that there will be some content left out or the pacing would be too fast. |

I agree, adaptations usually don't include all the details sadly. Let's hope that they won't remove important parts from the movies. |

Ah yes, it's that pesky Demon Slayer movie that's totally 100% the reason for the production committee making such a questionable decision. Anyway, I'm just glad Haikyuu is coming back but I definitely would have preferred a TV anime season instead, especially if this means the finale could get rushed. I've also seen confusion on whether it's a 2 part movie, or a final season + a movie. Mod Edit: Removed baiting. |

Wtf...will we get a final season cour 2 part 1 ? There is no way 32 episode worth content can be fit in 2 movies in proper fashion. Well, most probably movie 1 will be karasuno vs nekomo match and movie 2 will be karasuno vs kamomedai match. Rest will be cameo or easter eggs...lol Anyways another case of production committee rushing anime because its a completed manga! |

Japan and screwing over its most popular series, name a more iconic duo. It all started going downhill with season 4 part 2 when they outsourced episodes and tried to save pennies on the animation.. Now they're adapting 100+ chapters over 2 movies effectively cutting content or rushing it. No one wants this. |

Final? Will these movies conclude the adaptation? Also, I don't understand the choice of the movie format, but I'm hoping each will be at least 2 hours long. I'm guessing the first movie will come out in Spring 2023 or Fall 2023. Do we know if it's going to have a theatrical release? |

I was waiting for season 5, not a two part movie, producers you traitors ;__; I was seeing myself enjoying season 5 waiting with excitement for an episode to come out weekly, but two movies change everything. There's no way that everything that goes on in the manga can be fit in just two movies. Furudate sensei should have complained about this. I'm a little disappointed but nevertheless I'm still hoping that the movies will at least be decent. |

We were all expecting a season 5 since there's so much content to fill... Disappointed but still hopeful as the 2 movies could cover one match each and then end the series with a season 5, but highly unlikely |

Y know honestly I feel like even though two movies is not enough it could work. The best option is very long movies both of them together being 6 hours in total which does seem unlikely but it’s my best wish. The other option is cutting unessecary stuff out, there is some stuff I could see that could be cut out that won’t really have a greater impact on the story but will make me sad anyways. In season 4 they cut out most the cutaways to the people who were watching the match and just did a reference to it in the end credits. time skip time skip time skip with oikawa |
