Ehhh I wouldn't call it a romance, it has some particular scenes or sequences that may vaguely suggest it but that's about it for the anime.

Not a romance, but a SOL. "Violet" moves from place to place. She helps whomever she meets, and gradually develops her character in her "day-to-day" life.

Anyone else think it’s kinda weird the show hints at violet and the major being IN love and not loving each other in a dad-daughter way? I thought it was a family love kind of way when I watched the show and then the ending of the moving made it seem like they got together.

No it’s more about capturing the essence of human emotion, including love. But the love portrayed is often not romantic love.

Not exactly but the last movie is definitely. The series is more trying to find out what love is and the different forms of it and in the last movie Violet knows it already follows her feelings.

ita definetely not listed as a romance, but as a person who enjoys slice of life and romancw together, it satisfied my romance needs and i bawled my eyes out at that part too
