Yes, you should give it a go if that is your dream.
But if you don't get accepted, please don't go to politics.

the reality isn't like the anime so we don't think that you will have the same ending , but in my opinion you should try to do it if you were into it , it's lovely to do what you want

if youre genuinely passionate about it you should definitely give it a go. wouldnt you rather try and see what your hard work could lead to instead of constantly questioning what could have been ? try your damn hardest and if it doesnt work out, it doesnt work out.

good luck, man !!

Yeah, I agree. Also this comment reminded me of Bokutachi no Remake (Remake our life), where the MC's living a day-to-day job he doesn't like, goes back in time to choose art instead and things change. It aired last summer. OP, you may like it [or not], you could try watching it if you haven't already.

If you don't get into a pure art centered course try turn to game development art is very much needed in the space

Always have second options or even third options, have multiple options. I almost wasted a year doing nothing for not having multiple options, good thing I got lucky that there was an available slot for a course in my preferred university.

As what was included in the anime/manga, art has its positives and negatives. Expect some difficulties with ensuring stability and financial security especially if you are planning to work independently without any companies. But if you are willing to put effort and passion into your craft you are essentially improving your chances.

Remember, hardwork and passion will not be enough, never set expectations. Life is somewhat luck-based. Always find ways to increase your chances.

The manga does a pretty good job in conveying the stress that comes with trying to get into a art related post secondary program, I speak from experience, did 4 years of Animation related education at a pretty reputable college, but my road to get into the program was bumpy, after highschool I failed the first try, took a one year certificate program to upgrade my skills and failed to get in again, took a factory job working full time while improving my portfolio, experiencing the dead end job lit a fire under my ass that made me try even harder to get into the program and finally got in on the 3rd try… but once in you realized there is a lot of better artist in the program and some got in with one try… so the next stage of stress comes in… trying to stay afloat and hang with the big fish… over all if you can survive all that and with a bit of luck you can come out with a pretty rewarding career… but it’s a rough road ahead!

But it was my dream/passion… I wouldn’t have changed my decision regardless of what others said, if anything I used it as fuel to try harder if told I shouldn’t or couldn’t.

I took the Yaguchi path and tomorrow I'll know whether I got in or not.

Art is a weird thing and everyone has a different learning curve with the same starting point. If you always had those thoughts that go "Hey art is cool, but just as a hobby. Not a profession" and Blue period gave you the courage to change that POV, I'd say go for it. Do some research. What exactly related to art you'd want to do? Are there schools that can teach you those stuff? What do they expect from you (for the entrance exam)? Are you willing to spend a lot of your free time preparing for said entrance exam? etc..

Be sure that this is what YOU want and that it isn't the ephemeral post-anime feeling that you get from time to time.

If you'd like I can talk more about my "journey". Just hmu

Give it a shot! Just know there artists that have been painting for they're entire lives and their application is the sum of their best work. The competition is stiff but you'll never know until you try :)

i would say go for it!! it doesn’t hurt to try and it’s better than being regretful for not pursuing what you’re passionate about. i will say however, there is a chance that it won’t work out, so having a backup plan (or even multiple!!!) is a definite must!

Just do it man, you're young and got nothing to lose, if it turns out to not be your thing you can always change majors, do something completely different, you have a lot of time to figure out what you want to do. Your life doesnt end at college theres tons if different paths.

Aaaaaalso you dont need a degree in art to persue a career in it, the only good thing you get out of it is connections in the art industry making it easier for you to get a job in it. Its benefitial but not neccessary unless you wanna be an art teacher or smth

EITHER WAY GOOD LUCK ❤️

Depends on what your actual goal is and if it's absolutely necessary for you to have a certificate of higher education in arts. I'm convinced that in this day and age people have an abundance of alternative resources to learn creative techniques and the success depends mostly on your personal talent. Whether you have a document that says you are an artist or not doesn't mean much. All the designers and artists still have to create a portfolio and this is what actually looked at when they apply for a job. Surely, you can try to get into Academy but it's not the only way to become an artist. Besides, the oficial education can be restrictive at times with all the rules how proper art should be, which can kill your initial passion and creativity and you'll find yourself depressed and unwilling to create anything ever again. Also, ask yourself what job are you hoping to get in the future. Drawing for fun and doing it for money are completely different things. Art can be sold just fine but only exceptional artists get to create whatever they want and be paid for that, it also involves luck. If you are no name, at first you'd have to work on someone else doing boring assignments or things that simply sell, which could be far from your personal ideal and thus you'll end up depressed once again and wishing you never mixed up your hobby and profession.

So... think carefully about all your options while you still can. Surely, you can change your profession anytime later on if you find yourself regretting the choice, like I did, and it's not the end of the world. Seriously, the pressure young people are exposed to in choosing their career so early on as if whatever they choose absolutely has to be the thing for their entire life is ridiculous. But while you still have an option not to waste your time, just give it more careful thought and at least come up with back up plans if you don't get into arts Academy. And don't feel discouraged to try to learn art on your own or through courses as a side thing if you choose to percue education in another field.

if you think you can excel in art and work extremely hard for it, you should go for it. just don’t regret thinking what could have been the other choice because whatever choice you make right now would be the best one.

Bruh, we can’t tell you what to do. Figure it out. Are you passionate about it? Are you capable enough? Confident enough? Do you have the support of those around you? And if not, are you willing to go despite that lack of support? These are not questions we can answer for you. Soul search for a bit.

Also, don’t just be optimistic that it can work. Make sure you also have the talent, drive and work ethic to make it work despite the odds. Yatora is unique in that he has absurd work ethic. That’s why he can pursue a passion he’s discovered so late in the game and potentially get in to the most competitive university. Do not hold yourself to that standard. Hopefully, art is something you’ve been interested in for awhile.

Try it! I wanted to be in a band for years and did it instead of pursuing an education after high school and I don’t regret it one bit. I learned a ton and it was awesome lol and if you fail, just find something else you’re passionate about. Life is too short to simply chase money. There’s far more to life.
