According to Tokyo Walker, a convenience store franchise Lawson opened a new store "Lawson at Tokyo-III" in Hakone, the model city of Tokyo-III. The store is completely covered with Evangelion-related stuff and decorations.

The outward appearance of the store
Eva figures are piled up inside.
Asuka and Rei welcome you before picking up drinks and ice creams.
UCC coffee Rei version
Fried chickens in Eve Unit cups
Evangelion Chips
Countless numbers of Asuka bread
The magazine shelves are occupied by Eva manga
The clerk wears a NERV uniform

Eva fans have been rushing in the store and those Eva items and foods are sold as soon as they were put on the shelves. The store will close on May 17th.

I wasn't a hug fan of EVA, but the fans must love it. Oh, and you gotta love the "fried chickens in Eve Unit cups". I would buy that! XD

Hoho, it must be pretty expensive.

They should grow out of Eva already.

and what the heck is Asuka bread? is the bread like really bitchy or some thing?
It doesn't think, it doesn't feel, it doesn't laugh or cry..... All it does from dusk till dawn is make the soldiers die.

LOL indeed.

The endless debate between fans and haters. At one point, after spending a lot of time on MAL, you just realize it's totally pointless.

No doubt that clerk has already received offers for it.

Didn't some 7-11 stores in the States do something like that with The Simpsons last year or the year before?

It's not good enough for the hardcore fans if they don't sell pills for nervous breakdown and manic depression

Fun thing, the people of the crowd look quite normal for what we take for "otaku".

I'd like to have been there, I want my own EVA in pink.

Yeah, I read about it in msn Japan. It shows that the event is popular to the extend that it had to stop. Too bad the final day was May 17th, but had to end early.

Lol. But wouldn't it be better to open a second store instead of closing the only one. They had a boom going on.
And I want a Rei coffee!
