Part of jojos is the most hated part it always makes people drop the show and many people even skipped it but why is part 1 that bad. Personally i didn't think it was that bad except from the 1 episode but I would like to hear your thoughts of why this part was so bad

Personally, I really enjoyed part one. It's a few of my favourite parts. I don't know why anyone would hate it.

Based on what I've seen, a lot of people don't like Jonathan. They think he's too nice. Although personally I think he was more entertaining than Joseph. Whereas Jonathan fought with willpower, Joseph fought with plot armor.

pretty much everything. dio is the only interesting character in the entire part and even then he’s not great. hamon was a horrible power system. the whole vampire thing was pretty lame. it feels although not much really important even happened in this part, outside of the ending literally none of it has any impact on future parts. the power system is eventually changed, and just about everything that happens in the part had little to no impact on the big picture. pair all that with a pretty lame mc and by far the weakest visuals in the series, it’s pretty obvious why it gets so much hate.

I didn't like Part 1 and dropped JoJo back in 2020 because it felt so generic and filled with clichés. But considering it was made at the dawn of shounen era, I can't really blame it. All other parts were a major step up though.

Probably because it's cliche, but we need to remember that the period of the history was in 19th century in Victorian England

Probably because it's so different from the rest of the series(also boring). The way JoJo gets defined now, barely has anything to do with part 1.

Some people drop it, push through or skip the part.

Also, I think it's safe to say part 2 is one of the more liked parts and it being right after part 1 probably made it seem even worse.

It's an okay part but compared to part 2, part 1 is as interesting as room temperature water.

Its pacing is trash and it had 0 enjoyable characters Imo so I couldn’t care about anything that was happening in the plot and even if I did the plot wasn’t all that great compared to the others either

it was good but in an introductory fashion, the characters and the themes weren't refined as araki was just starting, but nonetheless,it was pretty fun

part 1 isn't bad but it just isn't bizarre which is what most people expect from this show.

It's the most bizarre and interesting part of the whole show. Jonathan is awesome because even though he didn't understand what was happening he didn't hesitate, and went about doing the things he knew he needed to do, and he's a respectable man with a great arc. People just can't handle the different action scenes that come from using hamon, so they think it's boring.

part 1 is good, it may have been written in the 80s and had heavy inspiration from other manga its still a great part, and another reason i would say people drop it because their brains have been rotten by hype and unfunny memes so they are expecting part 3 level shit

the writing for part 1 is mirroring the time period it was written in, the 1980s was filled with goody two shoes one dimensional protagonists that saves the day from the evil godly antagonists (while getting a girl along the way), the trope is overused now, but back then casual shonen readers loved it, so araki played save so that his manga sold well, but now manga and anime has evolved so when dp adapted part 1 it just didn't go well with most recent casual audience.

me, personally i like part 1 manga because it's like a window to old legacy mangas, but the writing just doesn't translate well in modern anime

Part 1 is the worst cause the pacing was really boring and slow. The hamon power itself isint interesting at all. Compared to stands, hamon dosent have much variation. Jonathan Joestar will aways have my respect but he is a very predictable and boring to watch. Dio is the only thing that makes it worth watching. Part 2 is when jojo starts getting good imo.

I agree with how it's different from the other seasons because phantom blood is a lot more tame compared to the rest of the show so it adverts what people going into the show believes what's its like so they end up dropping the show because it's not what they thought it was

It's not necessarily bad, but it suffers from pacing issues that hold it back. That and also Jonathan isn't exactly the best protagonist. I love Jonathan but compared to later MCs, he's not as compelling.

To say it's bad because not many things influence future parts is such a meaningless arguement. The most fan-favorite parts are part 4 and part 5. In the former, "the only thing that matter" are the arrow and Koichi for his 5 minutes of screentime in the next part and the latter is the most self-contained out all the parts.

its not bad at all, but its definitely the weakest part, its absolutely okay if you want to skip it because at moments it can feel like its dragging too much, you can just read a recap and move on to the better parts

i almost dropped part 3 bcos of how repetitive it was. the pacing felt slow and it was the 'meet the bad guy of the week' formula used constantly but then my friend asked me to continue and now JoJo is one of my favs.

the first part in my opinion was the best since it can be said that the hamon energy was a very good concept, but after that we moved on to a modern world where the protagonists use "Stands" and this is not the same in my opinion, In addition to a frustrated young man who insults his mother and always has the fights won, that's not fun. And not to mention that the characters make strange poses that seem to be teaching us the first 3 steps to become g4y, or the fan service of men that it has. In short, I did not like this anime at all and I say this after having seen 3 seasons

There is always gonna be a worst part of a show and everyone's going to have opinions about it. If you think it's the best then don't take it personally. I thought Part 3 went on too long and had anticlimactic ending to a large arc.
