that was a very weak "apology" from Asari so even though he seems to be far more reasonable than Akutsu, he is still a little bitch in my book...

Ashito's finally got the hang of the trio formation

As someone who doesn't know jack about soccer and only played it for fun, I really appreciate how well they explain 'The Triangle'/3 man formation.

Aoi's getting into the game so well now that he can make guesses and predictions on how he, his teammates, and opponents will move and what kind of plays they will make. Ashito's improving a LOT!

Anri giving tips to Aoi?

I wanna see more of Team A and the actual national Junior League team.

This episode felt so fucking short lol. Amazing episode. Aoi totally wooed Hana with that final goal lol

Can't wait for more!

Seeing the match on tv, maybe I'm getting ahead of myself but gets me excited to eventually see the main cast move up to the J1 league themselves, maybe to move to other foreign clubs even and eventually play for the Japan National Side. I don't know if realistically that will happen though, especially season 1 I guess they're likely to be the Esperion youth still

this is a a great episode! Its one of the best! I am just glad that this series is not one of those animes that are good in the first three episode, and just gets worse from there. Cuz, i mean, I never watched sword art online because I always heard it was so bad.

Let's talk ball

Triangle: core of buildup

It's as simple as it gets. Like they told us in the episode 3 people link with eachother to try to build up some kind of play that can produce goals. The thing about the triangle is its efficiency.

Football is a fast paced game, one hardly has thinking time and in a game of 90mins an average players has possession of the ball for an average time of just a single minute.

So Passing the ball is the most effective and efficient way to score goals in football.

Why?
Becz it's faster,
-it's has an element of -unpredictability
-it conserves player's stamina
-it's press resistant (pressing means when opponent runs at you in order to close down space and to win the ball)

Ao discovery the triangle in this match.
Triangle is one of the various patterns of passing the ball around the pitch.
What advantage 3 people have over 2 people is simple having extra support, support in numbers.
If one teammate is marked (marking in football means an opponent checking over your teammate) you simply pass to the other guy and vice-versa.

Playing in a triangle is like the very nxt step a player learns after basic passing.

Take a look at the image about how premier league teams pass the ball in triangles (season 2021-2022) just google it and it will be the 1st image shown.

(I try posting it here but the entire comment got removed lol)

Look how good triangles Man City and Liverpool stir up together. And they scored the most goals in the league.
The teams with little no. of triangles
are not so surprisingly scored lesser amount of goals eg. manchester united

(every team has passed some amount of balls in a triangle but the image only shows it if they do it in more)

Every single professional football team and even many amature teams works with the triangle, the difference is the quality of the triangle.

Ashito: The Flow state

Bluelock readers must be familiar with this term. Its a mental aspect of sports and it actually exists in real life.

Any athelete, yes ANY athelete even you and me, it doesn't have to be football it can literally be any sport it can even be any other activity, ANYONE can enter the flow state.

I will give an example, did it ever happen to you like you are playing a video game for 10 mins and then you check the time and it's been 2 hours since you started playing! You ask yourself "geez the time flew by so fast".
OR
Pov: watching a good anime episode

Yeah that's the flow state.

I have personally been in the flow many times while playing football.

When one is in flow state, they are
- deeply immensed in the activity.
- soo concentrated they lose sense of time.

We will talk about flow in terms of football here.

Flow is the state in which a player performs at the maximum of their ability. They don't need a second thought, it's like everything is happening on its own.

You know what, when one is in flow, they don't really feel tired, they are tired but they don't feel it becz they are enjoying the moment.
It's actually like a superpower but anybody can have the key to it.

Anybody can enter flow but not everyone enters flow, becz there are elements like pressure and discomfort which ruins the pleasure. Well great players seek pressure and they enjoy working with it and ofcourse they enter the flow state more than other players who crumble under the pressure.

How to enter flow?

There is no real rocket science here, one just needs to enjoy what they are doing with a little bit of challenge to work the brain, otherwise without challenge things will get boring and you won't enjoy it.

Ao entered the flow state but he looked tired in the eyes. Thats becz of all his weeks of overtraining at nights. He was not feeling the fatigue becz he was immensed in the game.

Another thing that's actually NOT a super power is how Ao was able to predict the opponents movements.

Many players can do that and it's called "reading the play" . It comes with experience and talent does affect the quality one can "read the play".

Every player weather its a defender, a midfielders, a forward they all have ability to read the play but they use it for different purposes.
I loved this explanation, thank you. I haven't seen discourse on this since KnB.

Finally our boy is beginning to grasp tactics. Who the hell taught this poor kid? His team mates are right! This is like the most basic of basic stuff. But I'm willing to let it go for the sake of the plot as it's very nice to see these kinds of break downs.

The way that the triangle was explained to me was:

"If you got the ball, you always have the option of going straight or passing to the right or left. If you don't have the ball, get to the right or left of the guy who does. If he starts to dribble, move up with him."

And that's about it! If you understand that, then congratz you are now as tactically skilled as Aoi here.

I kind of find it funny that they're calling it "Eagle Eye" but have always shown crows, but that's just me being biased and nitpicky.

I can see they're starting to show hints for when the manga transitions into a super hero story as Aoi get's recruited by the JHA (Japanese Hero Association) for his precognition ability.

Ngl, not paying much attention to the basics and fundamentals is a very relatable flaw xD

With the newly gained understanding of tactics Aoi is finally tapping into the realm of his whole potenial. Baka yet tensai at the same time, the typcial shounen protagonist.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

Since crows typically fly through the area, I think the name of the ability should be different. Perhaps they chose the name "eagles eyes" to avoid being compared to Haikyuu.

And I assume Kuribayashi is the man in the cap who is observing Aoi?

It appears that the sponsor girl is looking to evaluate Aoi's eagles eye potential. In short, he might learn more about his ability by doing this or maybe is something entirely different and I’m just reading too much into it 💀

I have to say that i was a bit disappointed with the lack of hype during Aoi's goal, the crow narration before was neat but after that, the music just wasn't worthy of a climax and the goal came abrupt. No big yelling or celebrations, just a still frame of it.

Only this though, everything else i really liked as usual, Ashito and Hana continue to be absolutely adorable together, Ashito's development is awesome and the tactics being throughly looked at, great.
football anime is nohope for sakuga frame bruh ( if no effect on it ) even bluelock

Well then... Add some effects, simple. Blue Lock goals are hype as f***.

This is an amazing sports anime masterpiece, which opened up and increased my knowledge, especially in terms of football, now I as an observer found Ashito in Trent Alexander Arnold (an English footballer) playing for the Liverpool club, before I didn't really mind it, but after seeing this anime I feel that my view of football is the same as the character "Anri" in this anime which is oriented towards strengthening the midfield, and now I know how strong the influence of a wing defender who can play at different levels is. Currently, even according to what is in this anime, Liverpool and Trent Alexander Arnold show their fangs with the playing style shown in this anime, so in my opinion "this is a very amazing anime, which can change your view of football, 10/10 "I hope to deliver the next season as soon as possible. Thank You.

Really liking it so far.
Was a bit surprised by the crows suddenly explaining Aoi's godlike power of knowing every single players position and somehow being able to look into all kinds of different realities lol.

Anyway it's all good fun, glad Aoi's learning more and more of the basics.

If Blue Lock has Isagi who can fucking manipulate luck, this show has Aoi who has a bird's eye view of the whole field lol. And also crows? Really? Like Karasuno from Haikyuu? lol
