What the hell is this ending? The pacing was terribly fast that I thought I was watching at 2x speed, plus some dialogues skipping which literally destroyed the sense of suspense and thrill the original Manga has conveyed. No Game No Life also had that Rock-Paper-Scissor game but it did way better.

Overall, this Anime is a bad adaption, just read the Manga if you got hooked.

Tomodachi Game was surely one of the best anime of this season which kept getting better after that rushed Episode 1
First game was quite average, the second game was interesting and the third game was a banger

This final episode, even tho was quite rushed but still it was really painful especially when he had to lose 3 nails in the process. I liked this finale although I found that trick of using left hand really dumb, I mean it was quite cheap & easy trick which was quite predictable and yeah now let's see what's there in manga............

One thing sure, it is really f#ked up

If I have to give exact rating then surely 8.5/10
So a strong 8/10 for me

Let's see if we get a season 2!!! I am hyped up for this, let's check out the manga (◔‿◔)

I think if you could loose all your fingers you don`t alway think rational (because you are frightened and panick a bit)

So my guess would be that Yuuichi cornerd him so Kuroki could not think right (remember, Yuuichi is good in manupulating other people)

Yeah that's the only explanation I gave myself as well after reconsidering the fact that when Kuroki was proved that he has no guts as well as no brains

And off course if he hasn't that brain he claimed then he was bound to make that mistake

Yeah now it all makes sense, really great series :)

Tho I will never understand why people are hating on this ┐(´ー`)┌

I must admit the last episode couldn’t have disappointed me more… Waited patiently for an astonishing ending of the first season so I would finally decide to start the manga demo here we are with no curiosity how they’ll end up.

Hmm I really wish this show had ended right after the 3rd game. Using the finale to set up all this craziness with Shibe going on trial and Shiho going missing, without any concrete confirmation of a potential 2nd season, just feels messy. Not a fan of ending stuff on cliffhangers and then just leaving the audience in limbo like this. Obviously if the end is a cliffhanger and we know a 2nd season is on the way then that's different, but this definitely feels like a "ok go read the manga now" type of ending. Then again, from the jump this anime did always have that "simply an advertisement for the source" vibe.

Complaints aside, the mind games were fun to watch sometimes. I'm sure it could get old seeing all of Yuichi's plans work out perfectly, even when it seemed like something was going south (aha! That was part of the plan too!), but I didn't really mind. It was an ok anime, decent enough for if you're looking for something to satisfy that psychological itch.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL has unfortunately become a brain dead extension of the worst and most moronic aspects of Twitter

Wow I want season 2 so bad rn.

I came in with 0 expectations and ended up being one of the most entertaining shows of the season, with the bad animation aside I really enjoyed this show.

Hope they make a season 2.

Dude people nowadays unironicilly expect God-tier colourful animation quality from each anime they watch lmao

The animation was nothing special but it never bothered me, this anime was actually my favourite one this Spring season and is currently second place behind AOT Part 2 in my top 5 favourite animes this year, really enjoyable and full of unexpected and mind-blowing twists 💀

It had me at the edge of my seat every single week with no exceptions and no matter how busy I was I always made time for it 💀

it made me wanna read the manga cliffhanger after cliffhanger but now I'm definitely doing it, 9/10 🤪👍🏽

I hate media in general who portrays characters such as Yuichii. Oh look, he gets beaten up, he gets three fingernails pulled and stabbed another three times, just because…

Why exactly? To prove a point? So stupid.

To be honest, this idea of having a character so smart who does this things just proves the show is not clever. The pain, suffering and other occurrences are in your face just for the sake of it (I’m ok with other shows that have blood or violence btw, so it’s not the problem).

It makes my eyes roll back into my skull.

Also, I haven’t read the manga, but unless the anime is completely different from it, I don’t see how the manga could be any better, because the only aspect that I’ve heard that claims to be good in there are the “facial expressions“, which could be one the most stupidest and non interesting things imaginable.

I wish I enjoyed it as much as some people in this post do :(

A 3/10 for me.

It's been a while since I've seen a show that genuinely had me on the edge of my seat every week, and Tomodachi Game did just that. Almost every week had a twist, and that made it one of the surprise shows of the season.

For the final episode we had some pretty intense stuff, and even if they didn't show it directly, I still had flinched a bit with some of the pain inflicted during the "games." We also got to see Yuichi really off the rails today, though I have to wonder if he's not just dipping back into his "old" personality instead of going crazy. It always amazes me how he manages to switch things up in every game.

Overall, this show is probably my AOTS (of the shows I've watched). That's not to say it didn't have it's own issues of course. There were some obvious pacing issues with things going too fast or too slow at times, and I'm sure the art/animation could have been better. However, this was a really great show, and I'm hoping we get a second season in the near future. 8.5/10

TL:DR -> My opinion shouldn’t be yours, it’s good that we don’t agree on everything. It would be boring.

To be honest, I’ve got way worse ratings XD

Basically, for me at least, SxF has really good characters, comedy and I think it achieves a nice feeling for a comfort show.
A 9 is basically me saying that I enjoy a lot the op and ed, the pacing for an anime-only guy like me (I’ve seen complaints from the people who read the manga about it) and a lot of the choices for themes in every episode.

For example, any character from Tomodachi Game is not interesting to me, maybe Tenji is the exception. Also, they don’t have nothing new to them: The way-to-smart guy, the shy girl with big boobs who is extremely annoying, the rich guy, the girl that everyone wants to fuck and Tenji :).

The pacing is bad at least, I cannot be the only guy surprised to see that the second game was so long, short explanation of characters (it’s a pretty bad sign when the anime has the definition of everyone for a split second and then moves on) and motives (5 minutes at the beginning in total if I recall before they were in the white room getting the game explained).

How can I care about anyone or guess who’s the traitor if I don’t actually actually know anyone? They’re 1D as fuck

The ending of the season doesn’t help neither tbh.

The animation is alright and I was interested in the beginning to see what twists there would be until I began losing it a little bit.

It’s not a good sign when my favorite part of the show it’s the nanana in the second part of the song of the opening.

SORRY FOR THE LONG POST :/

Wasn’t a huge fan of this episode but the Rock Paper Scissors was pretty awesome!

Personally I think it started slow but the middle episodes had me hooked, waiting for every new episode!

I see a ton of comments with manga readers not enjoying it.

As someone who just watched the anime it was entertaining. With potentially the best MC of the season.

7/10 from me. due to a slowish few episodes near the start and what seemed like a rushed final episode.

Bro the manga does a better at everything, the pacing is better there, the rules of the first two games are properly explained, the introduction of the characters are not just some shit thrown at the screen, it's not rushed and there are a lot of enjoyable dialogues that they just cut in the anime. The art is pretty good and the atmosphere is overall better.

Anime watcher here. As much as I enjoyed the series, this last episode was a bit disappointing. The sudden announcement of a special game on the previous episode made it sound big and exciting, but the way they handled it on this episode was terrible. I don't know how it went in the manga or how many chapters the studio attempted to fit on a last ditch effort, but I can tell that it didn't make justice to the manga considering its score compared to the adaptation. That being said, I'll read the manga because I don't want to wait for god knows how many months for a second season to be announced.

I recommend you to read from the start to recap some plot points and see how the manga pacing and sequence of events are overall better.

Every scene of Yuuichi trying to look insane or w/e was so bad that it was funny. The games and "twists" were terrible and predictable. I have absolutely 0 clue how people like this show. Feels like the author must be genuinely stupid if he can't come up with better ways to make his main character seem smart. When I was watching the rock paper scissors scene, I said out loud, "If he uses his left hand, this show is awful."

I hope we get another season since this episode ended on a cliffhanger. It fun seeing Yuichi turn the tables on them, but this time he won't participate after loosing a lot of blood so its up to Tenji and Kokorogi to save their friend. Looks like I found another manga to read in the meantime.

The whole torture game was dull because each round played out the same; Yuichi sacrificing himself and then shrugging off the injury. Yuichi being unfazed by any of the torture robs it of any drama.

The bad guy was such an ineffectual villain that I felt sorry he was being put through all if this. The rock paper scissors trick is so obvious you will probably see it instantly making the following mind games feel pointless.
Shoot first, think never.

That was pretty fun for an ending, Yuichi was definitely creepy but that's good to see how he can destroy this annoying guy, he got what he deserves, too bad Yuichi won't be participating in the next 4th game so it's probably gonna be average like the beginning of the show until the 3rd game that was actually pretty good, that's why I can say it was decent overall, just too bad it started very weak. 6/10

What a wet fart of an ending to an already boring show. The psychological parts are so surface level that it's just tiresome, then the "deep" explanation afterwards is just tiresome, and everyone's faith in Yuichi is just bad.

It's finally over, absolutely atrocious anime. 3/10, and I think I am being generous here. It reminds me of something you enjoyed tremendously during your childhood, but when you revisit it 10-15 years later, it comes across as obviously garbage.

Oof. Not a good place to end it. A very rushed final episode that sets up more than it resolves. Yuichi’s strategy for the rock paper scissors was also easy to see yet this show wants to explain it like it was some genius level tactic. A lot of edge too. Wasn’t a big fan of that either.

In total, I was quite disappointed in this show. I could see from episode 1 that the production quality would be bad, but I atleast expected the writing to get good. I was expecting Death Note level mind strats, but what I got was some smart moves played out way longer than it had any right to be.

So much time spent pretending Yuichi doesn’t have a plan when we all know he does. And when he actually does his plan it is often underwhelming because we’ve had so much time to find the clues and think about what to do in the situation.

So the main selling point ended up being a dud for me. It wasn’t completely trash though because the characters are actually written to have some depth, the games themselves are interesting, and the overarching mystery behind the Tomodachi game is a compelling one.

It’s a shame the adaptation wasn’t better. Solid 4/10

I ended up liking this more than I thought I would. Normally I hate the stupidity of most of these Death game styled shows but this turned out better than expected and I was actively invested in some parts because I was curious how Yuuichi would turn it around, of course I knew he always.

That said this last episode was totally not to my tastes with the needless scumbag antagonist and torture styled game, good thing it was a fake game.

I am curious to see more, my friend mentioned the manga was much better. I might consider picking it up cause the anime adaptation while passable does leave much to be desired. The OP was great though.
