How happy are you with the adaptation so far? I'd like to know if people love the slice of moments in between sports staffs (the main plot). And the last episode was absolutely amazing according to me, never thought they'd fix the teamwork of Aoi, Asari and Kuroda in one episode, it was so well done.

I think its going well, in my case i didnt read the manga but the anime is very enjoyable with very emotive moments. If you ever played football its very relatable in some aspects.

it's Very Very good imo and a sure classic if it continues on this track.
it's also probably the best new sports animé to come out in a while.

My only gripe with this anime is Aoi, I don’t know why but I find him a bit annoying. Apart from that, I think this might be one of the best anime this year so far.

So far it's true to the manga and best part of all of this is the best Manga arcs are still ahead of us.
Hopefully we get the same studio for S2, because there will be enough material for another season after this one.

I agree. I still can't fully understand why they chose aoi instead of another kid from the academy, because aoi doesn't even know the basics, and in the latest episode, with all his effort, he was able to play like the others. He doesn't stand out, atleast not yet.

I think that is the point of the entire anime though. He’s special in a sense that he learn things on the fly. He’s not some prodigy that was bread to be perfect at everything.

Everything about it is really enjoyable. Aoi can be frustrating at times but that’s the point. He’s learning to play professional soccer. You can’t expect a kid who’s only had high school level experience to understand pro soccer immediately.

Speaking of pro soccer I love how this show is more about actual techniques and player development than just some shounen bs thrown in. Seeing Ashito growth and getting better is very satisfying. The story is great too. I’m glad it’s 24 episodes. Gonna be a great summer with Ao Ashi

I'm happy of course. My favorite manga got an anime adaptation, I've waited so long and now it's happening.

As a manga reader, I know that the anime is a bit lacking and can't portray exactly what's in the manga. But still, it is a good adaptation compared to others. And as an anime watcher, I know the animation is not perfect, but it's solid and clean and I'm enjoying it a lot. It's so good to see them moving, with colors and voices and all.

Sometimes, we just need to be open minded and content in order to enjoy things. Don't focus too much on the flaws, focus on the good things, the story, and the characters, on how things will going to turn out in a series. By that, you will see the true worth of what you're watching/reading.

Its okay, I like it at the start more then I'm liking at the moment, I'm at episode 9 and I think I'll just wait for the full series to release. This is not a great series to watch weekly, I think it will shine more for people if you binge watch it.

Pretty good. I understand more about what's going on after watching the anime than reading the manga. Like I used to think the author forced a little bit of drama by having coach Nozomi said Aoi won't make it, and Aoi having a discord with Asari and Kuroda. But now all of it make sense and justified. I also understand more about that triangular shape/passing and the technical stuff Aoi still lacking..

Everything about this anime is perfect except the animation. There are many still frames. Sometimes there are more than 2 characters on the screen and their is no movement to their mouth you literally have to predict you said those line. That is kinda annoying. But probably Production IG don't want to spend too many resources on ao ashi. I remember kuroko basketball season 1 was also not so well animated their was a huge jump of quality from season 1 to season 2. That's probably because kuroko got popular. And ao ashi have also seen rise in sales after the anime was aired. So we can expect much better quality from IG when season 2 will air. I would be surprised if their is going to be a bump in quality midway between the season. I read on an online website. That episode 11 and 12 are the ones fans should look forward to. And ep 11 was definitely my fav out all the episodes aired so far. But seeing the quality in this new episode I won't keep big expectations from the animation just they said look forward to ep 12 I think probably the plot is going carry this season.

If you read the manga you will see why. There is a purpose behind it.. Also they mentioned it in the last episode(12), he is lacking the basics but he is learning fast.

Pretty lackluster and bland, doing the bare minimum to bring the manga pages to animation. This is Prod IG when they aren't at their best unlike Haikyuu and KnB where they translated the change in mediums splendidly.
