I prefer colored manga mostly unless the manga is highly detailed and well drawn (berserk) but in jojo case you should definitely read colored version

Isn’t reading in colour looked down apon kind of like watching dub?
That’s what my friend said when I started reading manga so I read in black and white but I do think colour is cool as some fight scenes are hard to follow when it’s kind of a black blur and you can’t tell one character from another.

you know, for any other manga, I'd say black and white without hesitation. But for JoJo specifically, something about it just works better in color

If there's an official colouring, there's no reason to read with black and white over it.

Generally, if there's a coloured version, I'll read that. But there are some things that just work well with their black and white formats such as Berserk. Having said that, there are a few unofficial Berserk fan coloured chapters floating around and they're actually quite good. Obviously it doesn't hold a candle to the black and white artwork but it's still really good and actually gives me some hopium for a future anime.

The coloured version is easier to follow in part 6 and 7 but the black and white manga has way better art so I prefer it. also part 8 does not have the same problem with the black and white version as part 6 and 7 so even if you read part 6 and 7 coloured then you should still probably switch to black and white for part 8.

It's the same art but the colour takes away a lot of the detail in the shading. a lot of the detail gets lost in the coloured version. Also there are some questionable colour choices throughout the coloured version that don't exist in the black and white version. overall the black and white version just as much better shading and detail than the coloured version. it's probably in for all of the coloured manga but especially in the second half of part 8 where the art looks significantly less detailed and much worse than the black and white version, this is a problem for all the whole coloured manga although it is definitely most prevalent in part 8.

Reading in black and white is how ur supposed to experience manga in. While color allows u to just experience the anime in manga style.

Fr, when I was reading colored Part 6, somehow there were 2 chapters in B&W and I don't understand what happened on that chapters.

I usually read black and white manga, but I read all of jojos in colour, so I would recommend that

I don't have a strong opinion about that, because i only have access to the black and white version, i only saw the colored version in the concept art's. So... I choose the black and white version.

i think that color can give characters more personality and i really liked the colored version of stone ocean. however it looks so natural and crisp in monochrome. ive read most mangas in b&w so i guess id say black and white

there’s an argument for both, personally i think the art style in parts 1-3 are more suited towards black and white but with parts 4-8 i feel as though the coloured version looks a lot better

color in JoJo is some of the prettiest in manga, and sometimes it's hard to follow the action in B&W since Araki is heavy on line details and shadings. BUT, jojolion is very easy to follow in B&W. Araki definitely improved his style over time. also some color choices in later Jojolion are controversial.

Colored manga always looked like 4-year old's drawing coloring books, so.... the authentic version is a one way path to.... the abyss of madness, cloudy and pessimistic madness....

Personally I really dislike the colored versions of Jojo, I really think the art doesn't stand out as much like that and after rereading a bunch of parts in black and white there's been so many amazing panels that I just ignored in color, JoJolion is a thing of Beauty in black and white for example
I think B/W lets Araki's art Shine wayy better than the colored scans that are not even colored by him to begin with

Exactly dude, the Black And White version just make the details pop so much more, a real shame for people that ignore it in favour of the colored one which Just Kills a bunch of scenes, not to mention the errors that make people think they're plotholes araki made (like Dio and Pucci talking in the middle of the day with Giant windows next to them)

In my opinion both can look amazing but from experience most of the times there is not that much put into the coloured version. I also find coloured manga sometimes forced as in for the effect artist is trying to achieve colour shouldn't be used. But in the end it all comes down to personal preference
