What? You didn't know about fullback? Are you really from UK? Brits also use fullback to name wide defender..

YCBFR No Brit would say fullback... it's a wing back, left back or right back. You've got no fans, you've got no ground.

Man, I hate this kind of people in this forum. How old are you? Who hurt you?.
At least now you understand he is not a CB,

Imagine getting mad at Aoi for that play when your defense has gotten folded twice even with 21 players. I also get Aoi sucks, especially at the club level, but holy it's just comical where everyone's priorities are.

also nice to see aoi improving, learning & earning respect from the others, proving them wrong, slowly but surely, surely he's going to fail along the way, but how else

at this rate, akutsu trash talk is actually getting quite funny lol he literally trash talk everyone even yuuma, mayb that's his dumb way of communication lol

a lot of eye candy in A team hehe

I feel like the whole series is gonna tow this line of he's so talented but worse than all these others even the no names, he's making progress but it stills means nothing next to how good everyone else is.

I can see it start to get really annoying if it goes on like this for much longer, if he's so talented he's similar to the manager guy, we deserve to see him actually blossom into one of the best at the club, maybe even playing for Japan himself hopefully.

Not gonna lie...kinda seems like they're just arbitrarily nerfing our boy Aoi here when ever they feel like the story needs it. I thought having the over head FIFA POV and knowing where everyone is at all times was like his special ability but now he's getting blind sided and losing track of his teammates runs?

They haven't explained well why he has now low vision but there's a good reason

Until now Aoi (and actually most amateur, low level players) stopped the ball like this:
-Preparing to stop the ball
-Touching it to stop it
-Looking up to decide what to do
-Acting

But if you stop the ball like this, higher level opponents won't let you play because you spend too much time on those movements and they'll steal the ball or at least ruin your play, in this case Ashito hadn't time even to lookup so no matter how good his vision and memory are, he can't know where his teammates are if he can't look at them

He could do that in Ehime because they were low level players and they let Aoi enough time to stop the ball and play so to make his natural talent (vision and memory) shine

The correct way is to stop a ball is:
- While the ball is getting to you, watch your surrounding and choose what to do next
- Touch the ball in order to facilitate your next move
- Acting (it becomes less time expensive as the ball is already in the position you wanted it to)

looks like the Aoi always manages to ruin the game. Once more acting selfishly, he didn’t pass the ball to his teammate on the opposite side. These basics must be used during the game in order to gain experience and enhance each and every one.

Aoi has a lot to learn. I don’t know how he knew nothing about them, but there must be a reason behind this..

As a former soccer player this anime gets a bit frustrating...

Making such a big deal about just controlling the ball and opening your body. It's a miracle Aoi got signed haha.

Well, imagine he's an undeveloped version of a De Bruyne or Ozil. He has none of their footballing ability, touch, technique or tactical understanding, but that's not what make them unique and among the greatest creators in history, it's their vision and ability to, in a split second, see openings before they exist, and be in complete control of the flow of the game. Aoi has that innate almost supernatural trait that only a select few in a generation possess.

By now you know the role Fukuda has planned for him and the mangaka shows he's surprisingly knowledgeable about the development of modern tactics in recent years by Pep, and Arteta. I don't want to spoil what's to come, but what makes the manga special, is it's actually not a simple football/soccer manga, where anyone growing up playing, and/or passionate about tactics, roll their eyes at the lack of tactical depth, but modern concepts like inverted fullbacks, is a central theme, and it's a great manga for anyone interested to lesrn some of the subtleties of the game.

The animation is quite stiff, and the anime can't quite recreate the beauty of the game (so far after 9 ep), but I really enjoy the manga, and I'm happy to see it animated.

This is an amazing sports anime masterpiece, which opened up and increased my knowledge, especially in terms of football, now I as an observer found Ashito in Trent Alexander Arnold (an English footballer) playing for the Liverpool club, before I didn't really mind it, but after seeing this anime I feel that my view of football is the same as the character "Anri" in this anime which is oriented towards strengthening the midfield, and now I know how strong the influence of a wing defender who can play at different levels is. Currently, even according to what is in this anime, Liverpool and Trent Alexander Arnold show their fangs with the playing style shown in this anime, so in my opinion "this is a very amazing anime, which can change your view of football, 10/10 "I hope to deliver the next season as soon as possible. Thank You.
