I haven't watched any of the show or this movie yet, but was kinda interested, and wondering if watching the movie first would spoil story parts of the show? Essentially, should I watch NGNL or NGNL Zero first?

That's not necessarily true in many cases, there's some pre-sequels that make more sense to be viewed as prequels rather than sequels.

Watch the No Game No Life show first and then the movie. Though technically NGNL Zero is the prequel of the show, it would make more sense if you watch the show first.

Friends are nothing more than the people who you spend the fun, yet meaningless times with. When those times get rough, they aren’t there to support you.

The Series adapted Volume 1-3 of the Light Novel , while the Movie adapted Volume 6 , which is a Prequel one.

So start with the Series.
"Genius lives only one storey above madness."
– Arthur Schopenhauer.

"Stupidity is a talent for misconception."
– Edgar Allan Poe.

"I'm tired... & hungry."
– Alexioos95.

you can watch the movie first. But you wont understand the first and last 5 minutes of the show and it might even spoil you, while watching the season.

So the best way to watch this is
1. Season 1.
2. movie.

movie is prequel technically but it explains how the world we know about came to be
so the series are first

1. No Game No Life
2. No Game No Life special if you wanna(optional)
3. No Game No Life: Zero

if you like the series, then reading the light novel is recommend.

Fate series is better when you watch zero last since it spoils everything happened in ubw. In my opinion, watching before a prequel makes the prequel much build up and makes it more meaningful.
