Is Mihawk the strongest swordsman of all time, or is he just the strongest currently? Who would win in a fight to the death between these two legends?

oden had a higher ceiling but he never reached there while mihawk did but if oden reached his potential i would put him somewhere around roger as he was in kaido's top 5 so if oden reached his potential he would've been stronger than mihawk and mihawk is the current strongest swordsman not greatest of all time, or it'll likely be roger if he was a swordsman that is or otherwise it would be rayleigh

Mihawk violates because he was matching shanks who with one arm stopped the akainu and the yonko kaido

Oden is probably the weakest top tier while being stronger than the admirals he is just a bit weaker then current Kaido. Probably on the same level as Garp but Mihawk used to match with Shanks so I’d say Mihawk is Yonko level or atleast above Oden

Mihawk's sword (Yoru) is one of the 12 Saijou Oowazamono; a higher class than Enma which is one of the 21 Oowazamono, also it's a black sword (which apparently is a big upgrade considering that Hitetsu said that Enma has yet to become a black sword)

I think both hv similar strengths and weaknesses, but the additional factor of black sword yoru (supreme grade) vs standard enma and Ame no Habakiri (two great grades), makes the battle kind of one sided for Mihawk, since it is to be assumed that black swords are way more advanced than their og form.

it will be a legit battle but oden will win because if he can cut kaido so he can do anything bro .
also he had fought with Roger ,white beard which makes him legend in his own way .

Admiral tier is roughly the same as Yonko tier. The only ones who probably surpassed admiral/Yonko tier are Rocks, Roger, prime Whitebeard, prime Garp, maybe Dragon, and maybe prime Sengoku. Maybe other ppl like Shiki (the movie is non canon)

The strongest swordsman ever lived is RYUMA the sword god , that's that . and between mihawk and oden its tough but probably mihawk .

Oden almost beat Kaido and I figure Mihawk wouldn't have been at his prime when Oden was still alive. So if they had fought back then I'm sure Oden would win.

I vote for Mihawk. I might be biased here, but I see him as the bigger obstacle.
