I do, in general, rarely for myself! In Violet Evergarden in particular at least not
Back at you, do you?

Definitely, and Violet Evergarden is one of them. It made me realize the subtle love around me and made me appreciate the kindness of other ppl

Is it boring to 'get' the theme or message that the author was trying to convey though? Certainly not to me.
When a show has some semblance of depth to it, eating it up like popcorn without truly understanding what was at the root of it all is kinda sad tbh. But yeah, you do you.

I feel like if there is only one thing that everyone can take away from anime, it's how to process trauma

The themes and messages of an anime/manga are a very important part of it. They can’t just be ignored. Obviously it’s not necessary for an anime to have some crazy evangelion depth but if there is a message, trying to understand it or at least acknowledging that it exists is part of the fun for me. That’s why I love anime like sonny boy or haibane renmei. And as for violet evergarden it does have a beautiful message and theme. I don’t think I would have enjoyed it as much as I did if I didn’t care about that stuff. Well that’s just my opinion though.

Sometimes I realise the life lessons shown in the anime but I don't take it seriously or apply to my life because I know nothing is going to change me.

Honestly after watching stuff like A Silent Voice and Violet Evergarden and even Haikyuu Ive started doing that. I cant usually tell what the lesson is myself but its rlly fun to look out for some youtube videos!!! Its not really boring to me. I try to think about the lessons taught after watching the anime.

I, at least, try to see if the message of the anime can help me to improve something in my life.
For me is really interesting to see what an author wants to say to the one reading/watching. And it also helps to understand why some characters are written in some ways, or the overall theme of the anime/manga.

One of the most beautiful aspects of fiction is how it’s themes and messages can apply to real life, so yes. If you’re just mindlessly consuming this stuff for the sake of escapism or whatever, without actually giving too much thought to what it’s actually trying to say, then it’s not nearly as valuable I think.

I mean a friend that had sucidal thoughts bunch of times long ago told me that a silent voice really touched his heart and made him rethink a lot of his life choices which i found it surprising, For me tho it's pretty rare (depends on how well the message is delivered and how impactful it was, Not just shoving it into the face of the viewers) but i can at least feel for the characters and try putting myself in their shoes from time to time.

Everytime I am done watching an anime I think about the prominent themes and the life lessons the anime tries to convey...

Violet evergarden explains the importance of love in an interesting way... the beauty of being a human and it really hits the spot

Why did you quoted me when you dont even have the idea how actually my life is?
Life lessons from anime are not something that can change your life.

Violet Evergarden in particular taught me to be comprehensive with others and try to emphasize with them. As shown in the anime, everyone has their own story to tell and their own feelings, which are unique for every single individual.
