| 1016 is here. 1 week passed so fast already ! Now the continuation of the fight ! RAIMEI HAKKE!! Oof! I just love the name of this attack from Kaido. And this is one of the reason why I like Yamato (except she says it better). Sanji's biggest weakness ever, being prone to ladies. If I recall correctly, I think this is the first time Luffy and Zoro teamed up together to fight the MAIN antagonist. I wouldn't consider Thriller bark to be the DIRECT fight together. But the trio are going pretty much quite a lot with their power. |

| Imagine cutting off when it's bout to go down...typical blue ball cliffhanger. Next episode hopefully makes up for this lackluster one(I'm sure it will) Yes it had some cool moments like "how high will your ceiling go" or the silly competition between the captains and the real Thunder Bagua, but pacing and storyboarding were really not good in the first half. I was hoping the second half would turn up the fast paced action after it bought time with the garbage Sanji filler, alas ππ¨ On the bright side, it's for the better to save the last few highlight pages of chapter 1001 for episode 1017 where the budget is supposedly at. Mid start for Roof Piece if you compare this to the manga...Ishitani needs to return as soon as possible xD Liked the episode a bit more after rewatching but all the build up without getting to the point makes it still not satisfying by itself. @VolKur out of all the options to pad the episode they choose to disrespect our boy Sanji further while Zoro is indulging in an era changing battle hahaha. Bruh.. |

| ZORO PUT HIS BANDANA ON AGAIN we're finally going to see him get serious again the last time he was serious and put it on was back on Fishman Island The ending was really good as well the one-piece battle ost is just hype Also if I remember correctly robin had come to save Sanji in ep 1015 but now she is not there????wtf am i missing something |

| When the flashbacks have better animation then the current episode lol. But anyways jokes aside this episode was decent enough for starting the battle. It can't always have the level of ishitani animation but next episode looks to be a bit higher budget. Love the comedic dynamic between Law, Luffy and Kid as always. Things are about to get pretty intense as the main worst generation trio has went into action. |

| The "To Be Continued" brought two thoughts to my mind: 1 - "Yeah, for what, another 14 years or more?" ( I don't know why the number "14" came to my head, but then I've been watching the anime since 1999 so maybe senility is setting in...) 2 - What's going to happen to the One Piece anime when the main voice actors start to die of old age and the Wano arc still isn't finished? Oh well, it could be worse - looks at "Meitantei Conan" (which I've been watching since 1996...) |

| Episode was bad for several reasons. The first being that the animation declined noticeably since the last episode; of course it was inevitable, but having such a great episode two weeks ago really made the regular animation seem extra crappy by comparison. Then there was the pacing of the episode; of course they couldn't cover a full chapter, but why did we need 6 minutes of Sanji filler? He's one of my favorite characters but goddamn, his scene was totally pointless. We didn't need to waste 6 minutes to discover for the dozenth time that Sanji doesn't want to fight girls. I remember months ago the folks who kept hyping "Roof Piece" said that Toei would probably expand the fight, but after seeing this episode it's clear that Toei would rather add filler about less relevant characters than expand on the rooftop melee. How sad. |
| Obviously it was going to be difficult to follow up 1015 with something even remotely close to that level, but at least the little competition scene between the 3 captains was funny lol. Pretty whatever episode overall though aside from a couple hype moments. |

| Sad to see they stretched out the bit with sanji but I guess you gotta go thru some of the bad to get to the good, preview looked great, can’t wait for next week Best part of the episode was definitely the three captains not dodging big moms attack, it was funnier in the manga but they did as good of a job animating it as they could and it turned out great ! |

| Not bad to finally start the fight against Kaido and Big Mom, even if I agree that the pacing as well as the animation wasn't as crazy as I wished it would've been. Anyways, there were definitely some awesome moments like when Kaido thought about all the people who were able to fight him. If I'm not mistaken Rocks D. Xebec was the figure before Shanks right? Also seeing Shanks on this list makes me even more curious and excited about the movie. He's still such an mystery, but it says enough if even Kaido counts him as one of the strongest. It was also such a great moment seeing Zoro cutting through fire with Kinemon's fox fire style. Poor Sanji. Women will always be his arch nemesis and even if it's funny to see him struggle most of the time I wish he could escape from there. But would he even be a help for Luffy and Co.? I honestly have my doubts, but I could be wrong about that. Damn Law you're such an conceited bitch :D As if Luffy meant it as an order to teleport Kinemon and the rest downstairs right before Kaidos attack lol. Seems like some things will never change. I had quite some fun with the little argument our 3 captains had. That silly game to see who won't dodge Big Moms attack, especially this shot here made me laugh so hard :D  You know it gets serious if Zoro puts his bandana on. His and Killers attack didn't do any damage, but to me it looked more like an warm up round. At least Kaido seemed entertained. Next week should be fun with Gear 4th, Punk Rotten and Laws room. Ngl, I'm a little bit spoiled after episode 1015, so I have to to reconfigure my expectation for upcoming episodes. Hopefully we'll see more of Megumi Ishitanis talent in future episodes :) |

| The flashback to 915 spooked the ever-living shit out of me, decent episode, especially after the fantastic 1015. Punk Rotten is CG, as I feared but I can leave this one slide, the next episode looks crisp. |
| Great fricking episode. The episode had a lot of funny moments as well. Sanji. LOL And, Luffy, Law, and Kid's iconic faces got animated as well. LMAO. And, the animation was great as well. Also, seems like 1017 will be great as well since it was hyped by some of the animators working on it. Can't wait for next week. |

| And the award for the biggest home run goes to Kaido... . Well, great episode. The three guys competing and giving us a bit of comedy while fighting in a rebellion for a country. Zoro putting his bandana. Sanji's scenes were a bit off the mood for the episode and could've been done later but were'nt bad. Overall 4.5/5 |

Overall 4.5/5 Yeah the Sanji scenes actually come later after about 4 back to back chapters of Big Mom and Kaido doing battle against the Worst generation. That is why the material here is quite dense and why its been tag named as ROOF PIECE for these moments in the manga but unfortantly it seems like TOIE might structure it differently and break it up a little with certain scenes outside of the battle. |

| damn pretty funny episode although there was a lot of action taking part for most of the episode. It's just always good to see them mess with each other xD the fight scenes felt weird. the focuse of the weapons was more important for some reason |

| Another epic episode with nice action and luffy kid and law are always the best haha they fight each other in a middle of the fight against two emperor of the seas. Sanji has big problems there. |

The implication was that he didn't think of her in that scene because she's his ally at the moment, so he doesn't consider her to be a threat. Take this episode for instance: Actual episode: *Zoro and Killer attack Kaido at the same time and fail to inflict any damage* Zoro stans on social media: "Omg Zoro totally bodied Kaido!!!" Like seriously wtf? |
