Hitler privatised state industries (remind me, how's that socialist?); this shouldn't come as a surprise, time after time, when capitalism is seriously challenged, the white blood cells of the capitalist body get to work (those white blood cells being fascists, if it wasn't already clear enough). The USSR is a whole other beast, and it would take too long explaining everything. In short, the USSR started out as socialist, with the end goal of one day achieving communism. Unfortunately, due to various factors (both inside and outside the USSR), they abandoned socialism in favour of a form of state capitalism. I do agree the USSR was bad, but if there's anything I respect them for, it's killing Nazis. Oh yeah, the Nazis and USSR HATED each other. Amongst the first to be killed by Nazis were communists/socialists (ever heard the famous "first they came..." poem? Yeah, that's where it's from). The only thing that was really similar between Nazi Germany and the USSR is they were both totalitarian states (and just to make sure we're on the same page, totalitarianism is very, very bad). The fact the USSR was totalitarian is actually ironic, considering socialism/communism are anti-totalitarian. There is a lot more I could say, and I could go into more detail explaining everything, but 1. I don't have the patience for it, and 2. you likely won't listen anyway. | I would like to see an anime adaption as well, it would be presented in a good way in this form, as other historical events like Jesus's crucifixion in the "My Last Day" special was very well made. |
