| The point it's not to annoy only main Hero, but to annoy the viewer. To create strong Emotion. Carla was never intended to be directly funny. It's the fact that she is so annoying makes it funny, not her annoyance itself. She is basically a troll, but she is so good that you never know if she is trolling or not. |

| You are lead to believe this is your standard fantasy setting and Alvin is the straight guy in this comedy duo. And people hate it, because they view it this way. If you see it that everybody is chill, Alvin is the idiot clown for thinking monsters are evil and standard fantasy rules apply and Carla is actually the straight man in the duo you will get much closer to understanding this anime, at least I think that based on we have seen so far. |
| Trust me, not everyone who rated this show low are that stupid that they failed to see the point of this anime. For the most part, I think the real reason people rated it so low and dropped it because they just don't find it worthwhile wasting their time on something they don't enjoyed. I doubt anyone who would click on this anime to watch was expecting "masterpiece" Is this anime bad? I don't think so. But is it for everyone? Well the score said it all. |

| I don't think that's exactly the case. The idea behind Carla being mean is that she's not very good at making friends, since she's too honest and prideful, thus bad at expressing herself, showing vulnerability and creating bonds (see how she blushes and gets emotional for making friends at episode 8, for instance). She is always forcing herself onto Alvin (as far as cursing him to not be able to get away, which might still be a lie) because she probably doesn't know to approach someone and be friends with them normally. In other words, she is a tsundere. Other points brought up above about the jokes often relying on Japanese wordplay and cultural habits of intonation and politeness, as well as them being an unusual duo comedy pair (boke to tsukkomi, funny man and straight man) are also correct. |

| I think many peoples was thrown off by the jokes on this anime. Not because the jokes is bad, they just dont get it. This kind of jokes was usually hit-or-miss depends on yourself. Plus, it also used unusual pacing that will fuck you off if you didnt watch lots of comedy-centric anime. Also many people thinks the jokes was repetitive which is NOT. The repetitive thing is only the setting. |
