 Ichijinsha announced a television anime adaptation of Nekotoufu's Oniichan wa Oshimai! (Onimai: I'm Now Your Sister!) manga on Friday. The publishing company also opened an official website, revealing the main cast, staff, and a teaser visual (pictured).Voice actresses Marika Kouno (Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni.) and Kaori Ishihara (Irozuku Sekai no Ashita kara) are starring as Mahiro Oyama and Mihari Oyama, respectively. Staff Director: Shingo Fujii (Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu episode director) Series Composition: Michiko Yokote (Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai!) Character Design: Ryou Imamura (Yama no Susume Third Season opening animation director) Production: Egg Firm Studio: Studio Bind Nekotoufu originally posted the comedy slice of life manga, also known by its short title Onimai, as a doujin on Pixiv in February 2017 before Ichijinsha picked it up for physical publication in June 2018. The manga began regular serialization in Monthly Comic REX in April 2019. The fifth volume went on sale last May, with the sixth volume scheduled for an April 27 release. Onimai has a cumulative 500,000 copies of its volumes in circulation. Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English for digital release last June and published the fifth volume on March 22. Synopsis Mahiro Oyama was just a normal erotic-game loving dude...until he woke up one morning as a woman! Turns out his mad-scientist little sister, Mihari, tried out one of her new experiments on him...with a disastrous outcome, as far as Mahiro's concerned! But Mihari is as determined to study him as he is determined to go back to his shut-in, game-playing life, and one thing's for sure...life is going to get a whole lot weirder from here on out! | studio Bind taking other projects makes me want to appreciate them , the studio doesn’t need to concentrate on Mushoku tensei for a whole eternity but they need to do some extra projects to give a refreshing environment for their production house staffs and make their studio production line stronger . Studio Bind giving chance to their talented staffs to tryout their debuts in different areas like Well known Shaft staff who known for his Amazing key animation and direction in Monogatari series :- “Ryo imamura”(key animator and Episode director) is debuting as a (Character designer). Another extraordinary Key animator and episode director who is known for the sublime Direction of Mushoku tensei promotional video 1st trailer ( which made everyone to hung upon mushoku tensei without the anime even airing ) Shingo fuji is Debuting as Director for a series for the first time . Studio Bind gonna make their production pipeline strong and we hope to see some in-house staffs recruiting, Mushoku tensei was mostly done by freelancers. PS Don’t worry Mushoku tensei still be in a good healthy production cause the Director is Manabu okomoto . | The usual reincarnation game that Studio Bind is known for, and who says that they'll only be focusing on Mushoku Tensei? Maybe the head backtracking his speech. Nonetheless, giving new staff some experiments to try out would be nice to see, lots of debuts from background people. |

Haven't read it yet, but while your translation is correct in a literal sense, the onii-chan is the main character so I think it makes sense for the licensor (Kodansha) to translate it that way. There has been a lot of anime that is not translated literally like this as well. Personally, though, I love how the title is a wordplay of "Oshimai" > siblings and "Oshimai" > end/done; which makes total sense considering the synopsis. Art looks cute too, I'd be looking forward to it. |

The scanlators of this manga took liberty of translating the title as "Onii-chan is done for" at first but when its volumes licensed by Kodansha, the official stylization of the title becomes "Onimai: I'm Now Your Sister!". | I was wondering when this would get an adaption given it's popularity. So ultimately it was just a matter of time. Looking forward to this, but obviously with a bit of skepticism, because there is a good chance not everyone will consider it appropriate, even though there isn't actually anything bad to it. Either way it's gonna be fun to see how much they will adapt and if they'll skip anything. |
