how come in some of the credits a1 pictures is displayed?

I know clover works used to be an a1 pictures studio but is some of this anime also made by a1 pictures or is it all cloverworks?

Aniplex is their main parent company so A-1 is also a subsidiary to it. I think even though it’s Cloverworks some from A-1 may have helped animate some background parts of animation to it. A lot of anime studios do that if you watch the credits.

idk if you ever paid attention to the credits but there's always a bunch of studios names in them, like I see ufotable a bunch. but they are both under aniplex, a1 came first

yep every anime have a bunch of different studios working on some OUTSOURCED episodes so yes thats just how outsourcing works

This is a common thing because of outsourcing animators,

Last season of SAO: has Ufotable in the credits because they helped A-1

A lot of the other spin-offs for Fate have multiple studios in their credits because of outsourcing

Also A-1, Cloverworks, Ufotable helps each other a lot on anime projects

A lot of animes today use multiple studios to make different parts/episodes in an anime. It’s good for them since it can split the amount of work but it also leads to issues like with DBS where you had some studios making decent episodes and other studios making absolute stinker episodes animation wise. You can see it in Fate, MHA, one punch, etc where there will be one or two episodes that are standouts where they likely brought in specialists to make them

Ep 14 was outsourced to A1, they also probably did assistance work on some other episodes.
