Looks like it's that time of the year with hard work and practice. I think the episode emphasizes teamwork but also for working hard to achieve goals.

Akebi being on the volleyball team should be an achievement in itself imo.

Volleyball’s a tough game, so yeah some hard-fought practice needs to be there. And of course these girls won’t shy away from such things. Thanks to Akebi they even got a whole place to drill themselves up for the task.

Also have to mention that whole piano sequence too, beautifully done through and through.

Excellent episode again. Only one more episode to go. I want a second season.

I loved the piano scene and its beautiful visuals. Akebi looked like a dancing angel.

Kao is just too cute. That pout face. x3 <3

The girls had a lot of fun again.
And seeing the old school being used was nice, it's always sad when a school or something similar has to close because there are not enough students.
So seeing the place being used for it's intended goal is a great thing.

Washio seems to be good with children seeing as Kao was even standing on her shoulders like that.
It was a nice episode.

Of course the posh girl is insecure about playing the piano lmao, pure anime moment. But more importantly, the girls are looking for a place to train for the sport festival ... and they do find it, the old school Akebi attended, when she talked to her previous teacher, that was so sad. A happy sad.

The whole gym part was very touching, especially for Kao. Also the tall girl needs a spin-off and a movie.

This episode is too good. It was very impressive. Once an empty gym, now it filled up with Akebi's friends. It was very sad when knowing that her elementary school is going to close soon.
Really can't wait to see Akebi and Eriko's performance.

The best episode at the moment. A great build-up, with the self-contained story around Akebi and why she seems so keen on making friends. The part with Kizaki and her inner Akebi dancing around more than makes up the lack of direction in the first half. Final episode next week, and I hope they will go all in, both the characters and the staff.

Also Nawashiro is underrated.

That Komichi find so fast new friends to invite they to train together in the old school building.

So far the best sloce of life anime this year.

Another masterful episode of Akebi. The seemingly insignificant moments like Akebi talking about now having friends to go to the restroom with are so cute.

The final scene with Akebi dancing was some great animation as well. Saturdays this season have been so awesome with the sheer amount of quality anime. Will really miss this after next week

This episode got me excited, seeing Erika cutting her fingernails, then volleyball, and a hotblooded teacher that is happy that her student made friends. Most of the episode made me miss Haikyuu.

The image that gave most emotion for in episode was the close-up on Washio, after Kao astute observation.

Akebi water skiing made me remember that will have Kancolle season 2 this year.

What in the kino did I just witness, the storyboard especially in the first half was so strong coupled with great drawings, many might have not liked the usage of stills for the practice but since the next game is of volleyball itself I would rather see the game next episode animated rather than reusing cuts from this episode.
The ending scene where kizaki plays piano was also phenomenal and using the space with water to show how komichi herself is like water and kizaki in the centre enjoying her actions and going with akebi's flow was too good.
Episode 7 was my favorite but this episode takes that place, can't believe next episode is the final episode. This has really been such a great ride for a sol junkie like myself.

The plot itself doesn't stand out much from this seasons other shows but the execution of akebis daily life with her friends makes this anime so good.

Hope this show gets season 2 since I think the upcoming chapters of manga were really the best part of the series for me, but I heavily doubt it would get a season 2.

Today has really been a great Saturday.

Guess even Akebi can oversleep. Reaching out to your former teacher to talk about their shared past while also talking about the present is always such a nice feeling. That talk really showed just how strong the bond between the two were. Washio's reaction on seeing Kao was hillarious. Minakami being countered by the Touko and Kao combo really was fun. Going back to her former school though must have been a nice trip down memory lane. In the end the training camp really drew in quite a few people. Guessing the athletics festival will be the centerpiece of the finale next week really looking forward to it now.

The animation staff took a little breather with a few stills this episode...

And then put all that stored energy into Erika and Komichi's scene

As always, this anime is a thing of beauty.

There are few shows where I consistently end each episode with tears in my eyes.

Yep, I totally agree with you on Akebi. Beautiful dancing, just beautiful!

And a very sentimental episode (School closing and such are going on in many places in Japan, as of you probably know) So that’s what makes this extra special.

Not really. Right after stills there were heavy animation focused scenes. It's a common sense to use stills to show less important events and put a lot of effort into important scenes that needs good animation and details.

I really love the manga and I was scared at the beginning that they will completely ruin Hiro's style, but thankfully it's not the case here. This adaptation is almost perfect.

This one kinda hit me in the feels, the girls needed a new place to practice volleyball, so Akebi contacts her old teacher and gets permission to use the gym there, I really loved the first moment there before they got on the bus when not only did Shijou squish Kao’s face, Washio showed up and picked her up after she called her big lol, all the scenes with those two were great. The part that got me tearing up was when the teacher and Akebi reacted to all of her classmates being in the gym of a once empty school, such a nice moment, music was perfect as always, and the reveal that the school was getting shut down kinda hit hard too, I was the last graduating class from my old high school before they tore it down so I know the emotional attachment.

And wow, the piano part had amazing animation, very pretty and I can’t imagine how Akebi actually dancing is gonna be. Lastly I’m glad to see most of the girls we’ve come to know all at the same time, I’ve really loved this show and it’s characters.

And we got 1 more week left, it’s been such a good SoL and hands down a favorite of mine this season, I’m really gonna miss Akebi and the gang.

BEAUTIFUL CHAPTER.
I loved the chapter. Akebi is going to have a sports festival and she went to practice with her friends in her old school. And her old teacher is happy that she got many friends, it was a very cute scene. And the scene of Kizaki practicing, beautiful.
Well...there is one chapter left.

This episode was way to wholesome. When I saw Akebi's elementary school sensei become so happy for her I teared up. Glad that everyone was able to come at the end. Also the final part with Kizaki and Akebi was way too beautiful.

Man, the rest of Komichi's classmates arriving and her reaction made me tear up, what a beautiful episode. The Usagihara hug was absolutely precious too.

Jesus, that scene where Erika was visualizing Komichi dancing was fantastic.

I love how Kao was chilling on Hitomi's' shoulders lmao, she's so adorable. But damn though, Kao's gonna be the last student of the school. They could have closed earlier, but they waited for Komichi and Kao to graduate first, that's sweet.

There Erika is again with all the feet and fingernail fetish...and also, her piano elegance.

Aside, the athletic festival prep is heating up, and both Akebi and Touko can't seem to sync together on volleyball. But Akebi has a better idea, to get her elementary school teacher Mako-sensei's permission to use the gym for practice, and her teacher is glad that like Komi, has friends now by her side. That is tears of happiness.

Kao is such a jealous younger sister, and of course, Akebi brought her along to see the practice. I literally laughed when Kao called Hitomi BIG lols (and the BGM just stun-stopped), she is just that tall. And here they are at Akebi's old school training their best for the festival and having fun too, because it's all worth it. It's all memories before the school closes down when Kao graduates, and this memory adds some heartwarming moments because everyone came.

Erika's plano playing with Akebi's dance moves on water, WOW. Like a match made in Heaven. It was fun, and deliver those results in next week's finale with Roubai Academy's Athletic Festival. Fight on!

It's just quite majestic that Akebi has come a long way, and I'm simply not ready to put this down, not just yet.

I really hope the main score go high when finished next week because 7.5 is such a bs score for a show with this level of quality, it's already a masterpiece in terms of production alone, but the characters, drama, interaction and everything is so good too, for me is the surprise of the season.

Agreed. A lot of people see this as a 'pedobait fanservice' and are calling it disgusting. It has its 'questionable moments' here and there, but this is not what this anime is about.

Ah another solid episode with such a wholesome atmosphere.

Starting out with Akebi-chan that almost late, but she's actually preparing for the after party segment which needed her to dance as drama club representative. Nice surprise for the previous episode, and also Erika couldn't help but hyping up to accompanied Akebi there because you know why xd.

Then for the main thing, Kao had a chance to accompanied her big sister practice volleyball on their old elementary school gym, and meeting with a giant fine lady. Not much memories there, because Akebi-chan just a sole survivor at those old school. But at that time, she shared the new wholesome memories with all of her classmates. Good for you Kao. And, No, i am not tearing my eyes xd.

I actually feel sorry for mistaken you a bit, volleyball cold girl. You actually pretty considerate to the situations, even with a little thing named Kao. She had a kind side, which actually added a nice taste to these episode, beside the obvious star element through Erika piano play and Akebi imaginary skating dance near the end that already got a good taste in my mouth. So, can't help but make my impression goes high to you, big girl xd....

Alright enough with my crap. Even without the final session next sunday, i already wrap up everything. Akebi definitely grab the iyashikei status of the season, at least for me.

This episode is about volleyball huh.

As usual the Opening Theme is banger and the Ending Theme is beautiful.

Most of the characters in this anime are all female and only one male, namely Akebi father haha.

This anime makes me guess every female seiyuu in every character and mostly I know and I'm very happy.

I really love Akari Kitou voice in voicing Usagihara.

There is a new female character from the volleyball club who has yellow hair and is voiced by Kaede Hondo and I know her very well.

Erika playing a Piano and at the same time imagining Akebi dancing is one of the most beautiful scenes I've ever watched and that's all my review in this episode.

Here some pictures:

Kao so cute lol

Ngl this scene was hilarious because of Kao being rude

I'm reminded of Haikyuu!! because the hallway and the school design remind me of the Assassination Classroom anime

CLOVERWORKS

I LOVE YOU

Tbh this anime reminds me of The Aquatope on the White Sand anime and is just as beautiful.

Anyways I'm looking forward to the final episode next week and I will miss it :(

I almost cried in this episode, scratch that I did cried because of this episode.

It's heartwarming to see Akebi having no friends at all during elementary, but with her charismatic and bubblegum personality, she has all her mates becoming friends with her and even playing with her in Akebi's old school. Even the teacher is about to cry to see how much people are playing in the gym that is years from demolition.

And with Erika, um that scene at the start tho...CloverWorks are you really teasing me hard by animating her lips and tongue like that? And CloverWorks are you really trying hard to impress me with that dream scene that almost looks like that Your Lie in April scene? In both cases, you sure fucked me hard and now I'm continuing to love the series more. Too bad it's the last episode next week, I'm really going to miss my weekly dose of diabetes and umm screenshots

Screenshots taken in this episode: 84...that many is saying that I really love this ep so much!!!
