Update: If you would like to help us update the regional information, please make change requests using this form. https://forms.gle/J48z2pJLnnwXnYDD6

With many companies now in the simulcast and anime streaming business, it can become confusing to know which anime is available on which platform in your region. We want to help take the guess work away, and are in the process of adding this information to anime titles on MAL.

Seasonal Anime Page
Major streaming platforms which offer worldwide services (Crunchyroll, Funimation, Netflix, and HIDIVE) will appear as small icons on the seasonal tiles if they are available in your region. Click the broadcast icon for a full list of region-dependent services. You can also filter which anime are available using the checkbox in the top right of the page.

Anime Database Pages
Use the "Watch Episodes" button underneath the key visual to bring up the streaming pop-up, or scroll to the end of the left column to see the full list. The "Watch Episodes" button will not appear if there aren't any platforms available in your region in MAL's DB.

Anime List
If platforms are available in your region, an icon will appear next to the title name on your list. You can also modify this icon's appearance using custom CSS.

We hope that you'll find this new feature useful! Please note that the streaming platform data is a work-in-progress and is not 100% complete now; we're working on getting everything up-to-date as quickly as possible. Let us know if you notice any glaring errors.

Hope yall add the small providers as well, like Tubi and Retrocrush. And anime on official YouTube channels too.

Awesome feature! Do you plan to add more regional players in the future? For example, in RU/CIS region dozens of show (especially movies) available in local platforms like Kinopoisk HD from Yandex and Okko/IVI.

About time this feature was added to MAL since AniChart and LiveChart had this feature for a while. Is there a chance that streaming info can added to the list we can edit on anime pages?

I don't know if it's related to this, but the sort option on the seasonal page doesn't work anymore. All I know is that it worked fine yesterday and that it's broken now that a new feature has been added.

Interesting, I'm curious, where did the data sourced from? Is there a method to contribute?

In addition, I did a quick look around and I hope to find this very practical. Thank you for this feature! One error I have found is Ore, Twintail ni Narimasu showing funimation as an available platform. However I'm currently based in the USA and visiting the link gives a "Sorry, but this content isn’t available in your country" error.

Finally a way to see just how little is available to watch in my region.

Seriously Crunchyroll is the only available platform and even then I only get access to like 10% of their catalogue.

I appreciate this a lot, thanks!
I recently started listing out Anime availability by opening MAL and then checking every site available for us (MuseAsia YT, AniOne YT, iQiyi, Bilibili, Viu, Netflix, PrimeVideo, etc.), and it was so much hassle. So this is a very welcome and appreciated effort.
(I eventually found out that Bilibili has everything the others has, except Netflix exclusives. But they don't have interchangeable subtitle style so, having options are good.)

Wow. MAL rolling out their first decent feature in years. Unexpected.
I hated checking that one forum streaming collection post because it was usually not up to date or just plain cluttered.
Too bad not many people will appreciate this update just because it doesn’t apply to them.

Very nice feature. I like it. I would suggest a few things though.

1. Sequel/second seasons of certain animes are not listed as being available on the same(sometimes different) streaming service as the first season is. This should be fixed ASAP to prevent any confusion.

2. I would strongly suggest adding in RetroCrush as they mainly focus on classic anime and even ones before 2010.

3. Some anime(like with Netflix) are only available exclusively through Amazon's Prime Video, such as Boarding School Juliet, Dororo, and Vinland Saga. You might want to include those streaming services as well.

4. Hulu, Tubi, HBO Max along with any other streaming service that features anime would also be good additions for it will give users options instead of having to rely on Anime specific sites.

You're doing well to update this site. Keep up the good work!

EDIT: I've been searching around the web and it looks like Peacock and Pluto TV are also getting into anime. Also, I found that some anime, mainly older ones, that have the play icon or even the PV icon that are not on streaming services such as Cruchyroll, Funimation, HiDive, Netflix, or even RetroCrush are actually available on other non-anime specific sites. I would strongly suggest creating a thread that can allow users to list what streaming services(LEGAL ones that is) certain anime are available on and the regions they're available in.

Brilliant. I have been waiting for this for so long!
Honestly what a godsend.

That said, there seems to be something odd.
Using "March comes in like a lion" as an example. It's available on Crunchyroll but when I try to access it through the link that you have here on the website, I just get a Crunchyroll page saying "Series not found." at the top. It also says that it's unavailable on Netflix but the show is definitely there.

You could probably use because.moe as well. Though, I don't think that it is 100% reliable. Sometimes is missing a streaming website for the series. Still is good to use though.
However, with this feature, we are probably sorted in that regard. I just hope that it is well implemented and they fix all the small errors that they have soon.

Good point. I will for sure keep it on my list, but people don't even use legal websites to begin with, so most of us have no need for that on our lists. I'm positive that they will add the option for that, but looking back and seeing how long they take to release new features, I'm guessing that it will take a while.

Lucifrost said:

No. If you go into the MAL page of a show, you will an option added to the left of the page called "Streaming Platforms" with all the available options. Not sure how reliable it is yet.
Plus, on the actual list you see the same option even for already finished shows

It's a start. Only a few streaming services are there, even though my region has many more available.
One of the Crunchyroll links led me to a page with 0 videos, as they no longer stream the anime in question.

There are several issues with this feature:

1. How does it decide which providers to show? One show only shows Crunchyroll, even when showing "unavailable, another anime shows even Bilibil and others not matching my location for no apparent reason.

2. The streaming platforms shown are not correct for my region. The platforms shown do not allow me to stream the given anime in my region. Given that location is free text, i assume it grabs the time zone setting for this.

If it actually uses "location" i somewhat understand why Bilibili is shown for my first point (no location set, so shows everything), but doesn't explain why it doesn't show other platforms.

3. Which platforms are listed as available/unavailable changes depending on whether "hide unavailable" is checked. For Boku No Hero Academia Season 5 it's like this:

When "hide unavailable" is checked, Crunchyroll is shown as available, Wakanim is listed as unavailable (below the divider). When i uncheck it, both Crunchyroll and Netflix are shown as available (and it's *not* on Netflix in my country.

Tl;dr: This feature is absolute not ready yet.

I like it, I did edit the look on my list though.

I always checked on Trakt/JustWatch before where I could stream it.

Also, for those who want te hide the icon (or edit it), use this CSS code (those last two selectors are for the streaming icons, but I image you'd want to remove those ugly PV watch icons etc too..)
.icon-watch2 .malicon.malicon-movie-episode, .icon-watch2 .malicon.malicon-movie-pv, .icon-watch-pv2 .malicon.malicon-movie-episode, .icon-watch-pv2 .malicon.malicon-movie-pv, .icon-watch2 .malicon.malicon-streaming, .icon-watch-pv2 .malicon.malicon-streaming {display: none;}
