| Abe’s Oddysee - intensely atmospheric, sets the tone perfectly, and it’s also impressive how they got it to interact dynamically with the game scenarios back when that was a pretty new concept. I have a soft spot for Raymans 2&3 too. Both games with very different tones, perfectly complemented by their soundtracks - the ominous fantasy of 2 being emphasised by the marimbas, djembes, bell trees (and all manner of percussion) and the distinctive motifs that accompanied the pirates’ appearances, contrasting with upbeat scores that complemented 3’s faster action of the combat mechanics and the the wacky synths that underscored the encounters with the quirkier enemies. |
