Is arc 4 good?

I've read arcs 1-3(chapter 160) in the past and stopped because i wanted to binge the fourth one sometime in the future, and then i noticed that since then the score on mal&anilist has only went up. So my question being, is arc 4 really that good(so far)?

Yes, I'm loving the Vinland Arc so far, it's much calmer than the eastern expedition one, gives off vibes similar to the slave arc. I think this manga is at it's peaks in it's calmer chapters and I feel like this arc have incredible potential.

I feel the score increase is just from the anime bringing more people over to the manga. And maybe season 2 hype. But arc four is also great. It’s probably the most slice of life part of all the arcs which is cool for more character interactions and development and all that.

Yes the final arc is so good, it can end up being the best arc depending on how yukimura is planning to end the story. Soo far the build up is incredible, the start is as good as the beginning of the farm arc, it's progressing slowly but surely as most of the series arcs, which is a good sign for quality because most of the authors just rush the final arc towards the end, but yukimura is taking his time with the characters, the world building and the themes. Everything seems to converge towards a great climax. Fingers crossed the end will be good.

do you think(hope) it will get better by the end of the arc or it's just impossible?he's put 20 years of his life into this manga it's such a shame if it ends up horrible.

The Eastern Expedition arc is actually good.
•After the War arc the revenge saga of Thorfinn has finally came to an end after Askellad's death, and Askellad carried the whole arc himself. His character was really good, his past was tragic and his statistics were surprising, Thorfinn learned a lot from him.
•The Slave Arc plays a big role in building up Thorfinn's character. He got probably some of the biggest development in anime/manga, this arc is just outstanding. Gardar, Arnheid, Einar, all were really good characters. And the story is so realistic that I can't just find any flaws of this arc.
•The Eastern Expedition arc is a little cheerful one, it's a happy arc and finally Thorfinn is living his life as A Sailor. This arc improves Thorfinn's character as a whole. He tries to keep his promise to his father and Askellad. And this show starts to portray the ADVENTURE of finding Vinland. This arc starts giving the meaning of title of the show.
My rankings:
War arc(prologue):9/10
Slave Arc: 10/10(if possible 11/10)
Eastern Expedition Arc: 9/10

No, it's average at best. Even though the series was never 100% historically accurate, the liberties taken with the setting and customs in the current arc can be quite immersion breaking at times (the idea someone like Halvar would be accepted by anyone in Ancient Norse society is pretty ludicrous, the native elder getting an accurate precognition of centuries in the future as opposed to the more grounded approach to things the manga took prior, etc.) and the pacing of the plot leaves many things that could be trimmed down significantly when it comes to life in the new settlement. There are some good aspects of character writing such as with Thorfinn as a whole or the chapter involving Hild and the bear but the good aspects are few and far between compared to the obvious problems in setting and pacing.
