 The Nijisanji Mahjong Cup 2022 tournament announced a television anime adaptation of Cat Food Studio and Yostar's Jantama (Mahjong Soul) multiplayer online game on Sunday. The anime series, titled Jantama Pong☆ (Mahjong Soul Pon☆), will air in April 2022. Director Kenshirou Morii (Animegataris, BanG Dream! Garupa☆Pico chief director) is helming the television anime. Scooter Films, a new animation studio established by production company Twin Engine alongside Bug Films in October 2021, is producing the anime. Cat Food Studio published the multiplayer browser game in China in June 2018. Yostar released the game in Japan and internationally the following April and subsequently on iOS and Android platforms.
