Seeing as how Ekoda works in a call center, even worse it's an insurance call center, 95% of her life issues can lead directly back to her job.

Call center work is life draining in a way that is insidious, because the only physical signs of damage it leaves behind is the trail of suicide victims as the workers can no longer stand humans and decide to end it all.

This is why Ekoda puts up with being a "side girl" and tries to find a little bit of solace in her tiny excuse for an apartment.
