I have already watched UBW and Zero, I planned to read the VN as the Fate route anime seems to not be the ideal thing and along with it read Heaven's Feel for the first time as I haven't watched the movies. Any thoughts?

Go read it, it’s good. I find the VN way better but the movie still does some iconic scenes good.

I don’t know if you SHOULD, but you definitely don’t HAVE to. I watched HF after UBW and Zero and my experience was amazing.

I’m probably going to read the Fate route of the VN tho, since it’s guaranteed to be a better experience than the anime.

I would recommend just reading the VN of the first route whose anime was a bad adaptation. Regarding the HF trilogy, it is a total masterpiece imo, one of the best trilogies ever.

Fate is one of those shows where the source material and anime (exclusively for Zero, UBW and HF) are different experiences, and yet the same. UBW adaptation was pretty well done with some great anime only additions.
With HF, I thought the trilogy was incredibly well streamlined, but with a route like this, keep in mind that the twists will only have an impact once. I read the VN after I finished the movies and I was like yeah cool. But I consider the trilogy to be one of my best experiences in the world of anime. Truly brilliant. So yeah, pick either one. Ufo does take the fanservice approach in fights, so watching the movies after VN would make a pretty good experience.

Thank all of you for all the responses, I decided that I'll watch the trilogy first, and then head into the VN. As for the comprehension part, I think this will be pretty much naturally solved experiencing both, so I suppose I'm still going like this. Again, very thanks!

EDIT: I rather decided to read the visual novel. Since it's everything in a package and how the experience can differ from the comprehension, I'm sticking with it. Thank you again!

Yes, the VN is a masterpiece and you will get some stuff in UBW you haven’t seen. A lot of HF gets cut out in the movies because there isn’t enough time to fit everything in. Good movies though.

Read the Visual Novel before, or, better, instead of the anime.
Well I for one already loved Lain.
