 Honestly a lot of my contempt for Ares subsided after this punch. It's clear he totally messed up whatever he was trying to do, he obviously wouldn't have planned for it to remotely get like this because he was pretty much dead, and he was really terrified after being healed. He also got punched out by the elf woman, which was shown in an earlier episode. This event with Ruti seems to explain why Ruti told the new assassin girl that she answers to her, and not Ares. Earlier that scene may have seen like Ruti was power tripping, but now we see she has good reason to tell the assassin that she has to clear things with her, and not Ares. I'm not making excuses for Ares, I'm just saying he seems way less like the sinister mastermind now, and more like an incompetent buffoon, or somebody who made a huge mistake, rather than somebody intent on evil. Of course what he was doing, and the way he's acting is a total shitbag. But I would put Ares on the relative same level as that rude B rank adventurer bullying Red. I got to say, what makes Ruti even more terrifying than the punch and heal is how she casually says she's sorry to Ares after she healed him. It was like his life and brutal death amounted to little more than an after thought. Like "oh sorry, I got distracted". |
| Years late here but I'm just astounded the lack of people calling out Red for arguably being a total POS. Dude lets himself get pushed out of his SISTER's party by a complete dumbass and he accepts it because its an excuse to go live a quiet life. He essentially abandons his sister with her arguably miserable blessing. I get people liked Rit, I do too, but dropped. Show would've been okay if it had just focused purely on apothecary sol |
