| Really good episode. Seems like we got a lot more questions than answers in this episode (What did Bebin tell Kage? What happened to Bebin? What is Apeas' plan? What are the motives behind Hiling's actions) The flashback scene was beautiful, although I hope this show doesn't turn into a sadness porn. Really looking forward to the next episode. Hopefully this one stays good for the entire 23 episode run. |

Hiling loves her stepson very dearly and that's why she's acting hyperprotective in his regards, but it's true that some of her actions are a bit cloudy even considering her aforementioned feelings. I guess we'll have to wait some more to see what are her real plans for Bojji. |
| This show is truly a masterpiece in the making. I still can't get over how great it is. Amazing characters with a really solid story, and art/animation that give me Ghibli vibes (and Kino, with the broad shoulders). Love it! |

Fun fact: the manga scanlation is only up to chapter 17 for now, and the anime is already ahead of that point. Some things were skipped though, probably saved for later. | I knew there was more to Queen Hiling's character. She actually cares lots for Bojji and that flashback portraying their relationship as stepmother and stepson was so sweet and touching. Another excellent episode. Pacing felt slightly faster this time but other than that, I'm quite enjoying how the story and characters are being handled so far. |
| Queen Hiling is actually quite the caring step-mother, not quite the typical evil stepmother we as an audience would be lead to assume. She even has some tsundere like qualities. |

| i was slightly perplexed when the beginning of the episode chose to skip through in a fast pace without the flashbacks and a longer pause on the healing of bojji's injuries, but it all unraveled in the second half of the episode. much more impactful this way actually, i approve the change in presentation. this anime is too special. as every episode has been, this was a treat. why must i be chained to wait another week... curse it all... |
| well shit quite a bit happened this week and there seems to be some foreshadowing of some drastic stuff in the future the late king having a god damn creepy devil in him to the younger brother channeling his king Joffrey ,and the humanizing of the queen not being a awful step parent. really does feel like the prologue is over now the fight was so simple but great nearly no words exchanged despite serving the same house and it ended just like that and he went on his way lol , the pairings of retainers siding with each of the sons will be interesting to see when the Ranking really starts off |

| And just like that, I fucking love Queen Hiling. She's just protecting Bojji, that's why she's opposing Bojji being king and let's face it, Bojji is not ready yet. Though Daida is more king-like right now, he do be extreme with his orders, probably because of that magic mirror which is mega sus. Apeas is a badass though, spear users are always cool. Bebin is probably gonna be fine, I assume his snakes were the one that took him underground. I wonder what kind of mission Bebin gave Kage though, it's definitely something that will help the kingdom I think, cause from what I've seen this episode, he ain't a bad guy. Damn, Bosse has a devil inside him. Maybe that's why he was strong. He laughed when he pointed at Bojji, so I guess he's mocking Bosse's decision? Or the devil just really likes to laugh lmao. Happy that Bojji gets to go on an adventure, though a pretty limited adventure. Wonder what the deal with Domas is though. Really looking forward to the next episode. |

| This show it succeeds in making almost every character multi-faceted and intriguing. The queen and snake-assassin dude were the stand-outs this week, clearly playing multiple sides with their own agendas, but not burdening everything with a mountain of exposition explaining their every single thought. It would definitely work better without the main character though, who continues to be an obnoxious squeak toy prop. I guess it cuts down on the pointless blathering, but none whatsoever would be better, to say nothing of an actual character. Or just develop him into something besides a squeaking widget. But at the same time there's Daida, who immediately goes full Joffrey and demands a bloody purge of all dissidents. Not just that, but people explicitly go "Well, this is way too evil and conniving for him to have come up with on his own, so it must be that evil mirror corrupting him." …And? We're just going to obey the orders anyway? We're just tolerating the existence of a clearly cursed object whispering in a child's ear? Really? And there's the giant squatting demon that emerged from the king's body and started cackling madly. We're making one passing comment on that and then completely putting it out of our mind? Is it still sitting there? We've kept this a secret somehow? Nobody's really concerned with that? Uh, okay. If you say so. |
| I love what they did with the characters in only three episodes and how they were initially viewed compared to now. Hiling - initially thought of as someone who doesn't wish for Bojji to be king and have her son take this place no matter what, now debunked as she is a very caring, even overprotective mother figure to Bojji who doesn't wish him any harm. Domas - initially thought of as the only person from the important character league that is friendly with Bojji and wishes him the best, now somewhat debunked as he looks to be a backstabber and doesn't see Bojji as King material. Bebin - initially thought of as a suspicious character for how the snake attack on Bojji in a short flashback was framed and immediately going for Kage once he saw him, now partially debunked as he looks to be most curious and smartest character, his snakes are friends with Bojji and he sent out Kage on something. Apeas - initially thought of as a stoic character who we didn't have a read on, now seen as a badass who has a no-nonsense approach to everything, breaking up the Bojji vs. Daida fight and is supportive of Bojji. Daida - probably the most straight one out of all these, not well liked throughout the fandom, seems easily swayed by the magic mirror character. |
| The fight was ridiculously good, the story was kind of a set up but I liked how it twisted Hiling's character. I think that Domas going into the journey implies that his character will get a better development over the apparent contradictory nature of his acts. The anime is still an eye candy for me, but I hope that the twists dont get abused and that the next episodes explores more other things than backgrounds |

| Yeah, King Bossee death, which mean, either Daida or Bojji replace him. But, wth with that big red spirit coming out from his corpse? A guardian spirit of him, or what? Looks like he wanted to say something to Bojji while holding those laugh. Not a surprise, Daida got all the vote needed. Freakin Domas still couldn't let go of the previous battle, it seems. Poor Kage, always in trouble. Then in the hands of Bebin, he might've been doing something dirty again in order to get a permission to stay close to Bojji. That's the important plot point. As well as how the queen true nature been revealed. Though, idk if Bebin was really died back there in the hands of spear king (smooth combat, bruh, really). No way, right? Alright, back to the queen, never judge a book by its cover. The flashback of the queen was so sweet. The snake, and her healing. Damn! And ofc a regret must be comes late. Smh, you woman. But once again, that last kiss from Bojji was simply nice. Though, its clear, everything went down side since Daida born, and became worst when he got the magic mirror, hope i get the backstory of those mirror, really. So, idk how fucked up the kingdom under his order. But, first thing first, Bojji's journey, like i expect! |

| I was hoping that the queen would turn out to be a good mom, but I was expecting the show to keep her dismissive/antagonistic for the sake of simplicity and keeping a focused story. But no, they actually gave her and her relationship with Boji a ton of depth, and wove it into the plot. Bebin actually lost his fight with Apeas. I knew Apeas was tough, but I thought they'd just make him job to the more important character and that'd be it. So glad that didn't happen. Also, Bojin's friends with the big snake, and he was able to out-speed multiple snakes. He's also a deft and agile fighter. My hope is that he somehow inherits the snakes from Bebin and becomes their new master. |

| I thought I was going to despise the queen but after this episode, I can't hate her....I'll give her a bly only because she's actually good natured at heart and actually cares for Bojji But as for Daida and Domas...Fuck em still Was very shocked to see the snake guy "die" though....Wonder if he got saved by the snakes or not and I also would like to know what he sent Kage to do, and why the snakes owe him as much as they do Bojji too Either way I hope he and Bojji find each other....My only concern is that Domas is with him and I still don't trust him |

| I heard that people called this episode inferior compared to the other two but goddamit, this one was just MUCH better. Much more impactful imo, espically the backstory between the Queen and Bojji. Seems like she was a really sweetheart and a caring mother for Boji until her own son came. Everything changed after that. It made me like her character a bit more and the shirt tearing scene was hiliarious xD Curious what Kage is doing now, he made a deal with that one guy. He's probably still alive because of the snakes. And they're the same snakes that Boji saved. Time to hate on Daida! Forgot to mention the Devil that came out of the previous king.. what he doin |

| Already know that she is actually caring for Bojji since first ep, but this episode makes me like her more. Awesome episode also, that fight is simple yet beautifully drawn. Can't wait for more. |

| Another great episode. Not a fan of how much it abruptly jumped around at the start, but it brought it back with the fight between Apeas & Bebin as well as developing Hiling into a likable character instead of a cliché evil stepmom. I really love all the fantasy worldbuilding with the healing magic, three-headed snake, and devil that come out of the dead king, too. This is starting to look like a serious AOTY cannidate. |
| I wasn't expecting the mother to be anything other than your stereotypical evil step-mom in these fantasy-esque stories, but I'm glad that the author didn't make her a cardboard cutout villain but rather fleshed out her character and made her more relatable, likeable, and realistic. great fucking job ousama ranking. |
