I just started Kingdom and I don’t like the CGI…will it be better in this season or should I drop it or does it get better

It gets better in second and third seasons..the first season though has very pathetic CGI manages to pull through due to the strong emotions at the end

I hated CGI when I starter watching this anime but IT kind of grew on me and I wont say that i like it now but more like it does not bother me now.

First season maintains the same middling animation quality, with a few nice highlights. The 2nd season animation is much, much improved. Season 3 is IMO a masterpiece, and animation is better still.

Even though the animation season 1 isn't great, I still gave it a 9/10. Goes to show how great the story, characters, fights, and writing are.

You get used to it eventually if you turn your brain off and try to enjoy the story being told rather than focus on then appalling CGI. If you're Anime Only then its worth finishing Season 1 as gruelling as it may be to enjoy the improvement and masterpiece that is Season 2 and Season 3 respectively.

I'm planning to start Kingdom soon. Is it better to read S1 and switch to the anime then? I can bear with bad CGI but if it's like that for 24 minutes non stop,then not really xD

the first episode is 50 minutes, the other ones are 25. at first it looked like The Chinese Version of Ex-Arm or Tesla Note but now I don’t have a problem with the CGI. Just concentrate on the story and season 2+3 will probably be far better. If you are a manga reader you could read the manga instead and switch to the anime in s2

Imo the cgi breaks the immersion a lot of times, specially since some shots are 2D so it's jarring. Second season is miles better and so is the current one.

In general if you haven't read the source material, it's easier to overlook the CGI.

No problem with CGI even if full series is in CGI as in dorohedoro is was awesome and the problem arises when the CGI can't blend properly with 2d animation! It's only my opinion .

Had no problems with the CGI. Though it kind of bothered me at first, if you stick around longer, it'd probably grow on you. And the story is good, so I enjoyed it still.

The animation is so trash even 2 minutes in I want to drop it. If their budget was this low they shouldn't have even tried to make the anime. I've literally never seen an anime with such bad animation. You occasionally see anime with CGI horses or sometimes some monsters. But never 100% pure shit-tier CGI. Even the dub is terrible and I love dubs, it's worse than the 90's dubs of foreign live action TV shows. I can't believe this anime is rated so highly. Watching the 50 minute long first episode (1+2) was like actual torture. Skipping all the way to episode 39 the animation is just as bad. If you're wondering if it ever improves.... no, no it doesn't. Absolutely appalling.

About the only thing with actual 2D animation is the few childhood flashbacks from what I saw. I dropped the show after the 3rd episode as you might imagine. I've never seen such a terrible anime.
