This series to be is up there with Serial Experiments Lain and Evangelion as being the most confusing thing ever. I have just watched the 14 episodes of "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya " and I have no idea what just happened or whats going on. Everytime I read up on it I see something new? Is the 2nd season a remake? A side story? Non canon? I DONT GET IT??!?!

Apparently theres some singing scene too that people keep saying is in season 1 but I swear I did not see it. I can only assume that Season 2 will complete the story right? Like or do I have to watch season 1/2, then go find the correct order to watch it then I will understand?

You are most likely watching in chronological order which means that you were watching season 1 and 2 simultaneously.
Just keep watching, you’ll get it eventually

When it aired the episodes weren't in chronological order and then i think it aired in chronological order and with all the episodes. Take the two seasons as a whole season and watch it in chronological order so it won't be confusing.

Funimation and some piracy sites have the series in chronological order, which places the festival arc after the Sigh, which is in season 2

Its best to watch the series on chronological instead of the aired order.

It's not confusing if you watch it in chronologic order, which is different from broadcast order.

I'm afraid I'm passing though this shit right now. I just randomly picked this anime to watch and the platform I use just put all the episodes together, both the 2006's version and the 2009's, and I baited myself thinking the first 14 episodes were the 2006's version and the rest was the 2009's. I remember watching episode 6 and getting really excited
to watch the rest but well I just reached episode 14 a few minutes ago I got really disappointed and thought the show had a open ending. I just learned that apparently I'm watching the chronological order and that there's this broadcast order which it looks like from what I read that would make the cool scene of episode 6 the last thing I'd watch, maybe the experience would have been better but well I see in your list that you liked the series even though it seems like you watched it in the same order that I'm watching, so I'll just keep going...
