| I would likely watch it, but I doubt there will be a season two. It's an anime original series and the story concluded pretty well with Minato integrating his different past selves' mental states into a whole and more well-rounded person in the present, reconciling with his sister and parents, arriving at a place of peace with himself, his friends, his place on the team, his past, present, and future. Yes, in some respects, one of the more disappointing aspects of this first season people can cite is a lack of water polo playing, so there is a lot of places they could go with it in terms of incorporating a lot more actual gameplay, exploring different rules and strategies and techniques, more character development for the rest of the team, etc. And that's all true. But usually those loose ends and other avenues of the story which can be explored are true of all anime originals, but a lot still don't get renewed anyway because they were conceived as one-off projects. I'm speculating here since I don't know if they originally planned for more seasons or not, but it's the type of series which would work perfectly well if they left it at one season. Yet it could also easily be made to continue. But I'd surmise it probably only will if it was either planned for ahead of time or if the series was unexpectedly wildly commercially and/or critically successful, which doesn't appear to be the case. |
