Can we get a new anime genre added - Bara

Unlike Boys Love genre, "Bara (薔薇) or "Men's Love", is a Japanese term for a genre of art that focuses on male same-sex love usually created by gay men for a gay audience (so not girls)."

To my knowledge, there aren't any bara anime, but there are a lot of bara manga (some popular examples are Akkan Complete, Darkness Hound, Priapus, Ore ni Honey Trap, Moshimo Danshikou no Hoken Taiiku ga Jitsugi Ari Dattara) that deserve a bara tag in my opinion since those are aimed at a completely different demographic.

Yes and no...

To briefly generalize...

While most bara works depict gay hentai, there are numerous BL works that feature gay hentai as well, also known as yaoi (such as Yarchin Bitch Club, Dakaretai Otoko 1-i ni Odosarete Imasu, Kuro Gal ni Natta kara Shinyuu to shitemita., etc.) but those are far from bara since they're created by women and are aimed for women - they typically have bishounen boys/men with highly romanticized and dramatic relationships and sometimes focus on smut.

In addition to being created by men for men, bara usually has a different style than yaoi, commonly having more muscular dudes and they either depict more realistic-ish relationships (i.e. My Brother's Husband), or pure smut/sex (i.e. Priapus).

In summary, gay hentai is closer to an umbrella term for yaoi and bara. They each have some elements that set them apart regarding relationships, style and smut.
