Dunno about season 2 but I highly recommend reading the LN. The manga doesn't do the story justice. It's good and all but the LN far outclasses the manga. If u read manga only then go for it. Otherwise, try out the LN it's very good

If I'm not wrong, I'm pretty sure the anime adapted the whole of volume 5 so start reading from volume 6.

Although, I recommend reading from the start (vol.1) since the anime does leave out some parts and all. It may not seem like much, but it makes the world more deep and makes minor characters feel more important (like Anna) and even gives more depth to some main characters (like shinohara and red hair girl)

So read from volume 6 of the light novel if you want to continue where the anime left off, but I recommend reading from volume 1

Edit: also there are some information and good parts that the anime leaves out

I enjoyed this anime but i don't think it will get S02 very soon...
1. The Animation was bad... specially the monsters look like toys rather then dangerous being.
2. Second half focused too much on human side rather then protagonist side.
(Which of course many audience didn't prefer..even i for 1% care if shun guy or sensei or other dies or get tortured..more or less i wanted them dead so the story can properly follow spider protagonist.)
3. Lack of Character development for Main Protagonist.
