Broadcast order on purpose?

After thinking for a while, I realised potentially the reason for the order is so we cannot see a complete story unless we read the manga, therefore forcing people do buy the source material. What do you guys think and did it work on you?

Seems like a roundabout way to force people to buy the manga then.
And it defeats the original purpose because most people will be either triggered by that idea or just disappointed with the adaptation (Given that they are already reading the source material to begin with)
It was the director ‘s liberty and backfired.
Not only they altered the order but they also cut content here and there so overall a bad adaptation. If it’s not broken.
I know this has been done before (Haruhi) but I believe that nowadays the same strategy is not working anymore and viewers just don’t like it.
For me, IMO and for my experience it did not work as they might have intended.

If they intended to do it like that, then they messed up big time and literally made people want to not look at the source material. By watching the anime in the actual chronological order it made the adaptation go from a 4 to an 8 IMO, and because of that I actually want to read the source material. But because of the way they broadcasted this anime, they ruined a great story IMO.

The director chose a broken order because he felt as if the first and last episode of the chronological order would make the audience confused. I mean, I get where he's coming from, but he didn't have to break it this much. All that was needed to be moved in my opinion was the first and last episode of the chronological order and keep everything else in the proper order.
