I wonder how Takayanagi can frame this so that this kid can understand… I mean, the kid really wants to do a murder-suicide here… that’s a lot of pressure for Takayanagi to stop it, and so far we haven’t really seen much empathy at all. Or really, anything except the wanting to hurt others. The line “I wonder if my blood is black, too” stuck out to me, though. Maybe this kid does think about something other than murder.

i don't quite have a word to describe how i'm feeling after reading that. it's like a gross mix of dread and hope. torioka, for whatever reason, can't seem to grasp the value of life. this is the first time in a while i've seen a legitimate attempt at humanising a character like this, and amase-san is very good at what she does, so i'm excited to see where she takes this.

oh yea and i noticed in chapter 25.5, torioka happily told takayanagi that he "went again yesterday," and takayanagi replied by asking if he had a lot to talk about wherever he went. i'm thinking this is like some kind of homework takayanagi assigned to help him learn how much life is really worth or something along those lines, but thats just speculation
