Can I watch this without watching Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru first?

So I just found this anime and got interested real quick cuz it's ufotable. And also there's one made by Doga Kobo too but it says it's an alternative one. Should I watch the Hanamaru one before proceeding into this?

Hanamaru is slice of life with all the swords from the game, Katsugeki is an action oriented series following just a few. They're separate things.
