| Free schooling? This island must be really wealthy... There were only a few children who could go to school from the village I grew up in. I was allowed to go to school, but I had to take a carriage from the village to the neighboring town. My grandmother sold my mother's jewelry so that I could grow up without any struggle. I was able to live comfortably in the village. ...I did leave a letter, but I wonder if she'll worry that I'm gone.  |

| Kate arrived at the island, and looking for shadows house. The island are open for tourist and the people there are friendly, but for me they are controlled by the soot. And the nobles has ulterior motive being open to public. Its interesting to see Kate thinking things through. The chapter ends with Kate seeing the far view of shadows house. This arc so far is good and nice to see it |

| Soot means they have been brainwashed. I love how Kate started calling herself in the manga "I am Kate Shadow", but when she realized what was happening she stopped calling herself as such. |

Or she could just be a brainwashed human. Could go either way, if they even tell us at all. |

Not just a whiff, it was legit a building filled with clouds of it, if you've ever been in a furnace room when the chimney don't work, in about 10 seconds your in a cloud in 20 your blind in a minute you're gonna suffocate, they legit forced soot down their necks in that warehouse they walked through. I'm also thinking they'll probably expand shadow house to the entire island, and have that as the new invitation only area, and then start inviting others from the outside to "shadow island" instead of the original "shadow house" - Then it'll no longer be about the third floor but how close to the mountain you can get or actually getting into shadows house thatll be like the new 3rd floor for all the new leaders lmao Kate will also probs tear it down before that, but i figure that was the overall goal anyways |
