| I am Planning on buying Akira and I want to know if Akira offers any of these besides visuals and epicness: 1.Deep or Philosphical Themes 2.Complex/complicated storyline 3.Heavy Story Telling 4.Social Commentary(Idk a review mentioned that) If not,is there anything else that sets it apart from a shounen as it a seinen? Can it be considered among some of the seinens like zetman/vagabond/eden it's an endless world/vinland saga according to it's story telling values |
| Yes it does have all the those qualities that you have mentioned although it depends on the person if they can appreciate its themes, to put it simply I would say it's about how society will keep destroying themselves when people pursue their selfish goals over what the world really needs although it's explored in a much more nuanced way in the manga. |
